Hiking and beaching
Mar 2021
I spent time on a hike with Scott from Royalton Resorts and Spa and walked in the water.

It was a wonderful experience.

Worth the trip!

It takes a bit to get to, but this is one of the best beaches we’ve done in Antigua so far!
The water is crystal clear, and the sand is golden. There’s a nice looking hike up to an old fort which would give you spectacular views of the ocean and the bay.

Nice beach
Mar 2020 • Couples
It’s a nice beach. Which goes without saying in Antigua. There is a rather ugly hotel block at one end, but the far end is very nice, sheltered calm water.
Set your sat nav for Fort Barrington so you park at the opposite end to the hotel.
The only thing is there is no facilities at all, no beach bar or anywhere to get a drink so bring your own provisions.
There is a wreck you can snorkel over marked by an orange buoy. You can see the buoy and outline of the wreck from the nearby fort. It’s a long long long swim out so get someone to take you on a jet ski or boat

Royalton Resort is on this beautiful bay. Great snorkeling. Beautiful sand. Popular for anchoring yachts.

Royalton Beach

Beach is beautiful. Sand easy to walk. Roped off and sandy for swimming.
Too much litter around trail to Fort at top of Mountain. Too bad.

Lots of locals pedaling their wares and asking if you brought them something (food) some were as bold as asking for pizza

Lovely sandy beech

Lovely beach beside our hotel so good location for us; plenty of watersports but attached to the Royalton. Not so good for young children as there is a bit of a sudden drop, but otherwise great place to be.

Fantastic beach BUT way too busy
Jan 2020
It's unfortunate because it really is a beautiful beach - nice sand and easy swimming and truly beautiful .... we went there because we thought considering the dirt road and location, that it would be peaceful. BUT Wadadli Cats and Mystic Cruises dump off about 100 people there literally every hour starting at about 10 AM. As one boat was pulling out, another boat pulled in - this went on literally ALL DAY - I'm guessing because it is such a calm bay that they can easily dock the boats there - wish we had known before - the people swarm the beach - that, along with the bike tours and the cruise ship passengers, just made it wall to wall people. It's just not a big enough beach to handle all the people they drop off there - we left at 245 pm -- and while the cruise ship passengers were leaving, yet another Wadadli Cat was pulling in as one pulled out. Not planning to go back. The fort there looked cool, that's also a cool thing. If you don't mind crowds and loud music all day long, you will enjoy it.

Favorite beach on the island!
Nov 2019 • Couples
Deep Bay Beach was breathtaking! We stayed within walking distance of this beach and I loved the crescent shaped white sand beach. I would swim laps, walk the white strand from end to end, and read a book under the trees. Fort Barrington overlooks this beach and it’s a nice hike up to get fantastic views. I tried to find the goats during my hike, but they must have scrambled. Also, there is a shipwreck that one can snorkel over, however, it’s a long swim out and there is too much activity of jet skis and boats in the water. I would not feel comfortable swimming with so much activity. Bring your own food as there are no restaurants around the area. There is an all inclusive, but they are not set up to serve the public.
