Right in the middle of Blackwood Highstreet
If you are looking for a cheap and clean cinema that has the newest films, with cheap ticket prices, then Blackwood's Maxime Cinema is the place to visit. Not only are the cinema screens fantastic, the seats are comfortable, and it feels like a little bit of history right on our doorstep. The other amazing this is that you can rent a cinema screen for a oarty or special occasion and watch an old or new movie! The food is yummy, and it's enormous and clean, its incredible! The staff are so kind and nice and you're allowed to bring your on sweets, however, the prices of the food and drink is so good, I wouldn't bother. Visiting the maxime cinema is a fun thing to do with your family and perfect for a family day out. The ticket prices at the cinema are only £3.50 which is an absolute bargain. What else can you ask for? If you want to visit a cinema, i would recommend the Maxime cinema in Blackwood, it's bendigedig!

    Maxime Cinema is so amazing!
Maxime Cinema is in Blackwood High Street with lots of easy parking nearby. You can book your tickets online in advance but you can also buy the from the cinema on the day. When you go into the cinema you are greeted by kind, helpful staff who make your experience extra lovely. There are lots of delicious snacks to choose from like Pringles, Popcorn, sweets, chocolate and your favourite drinks. I went to see "Clifford The Big Red Dog" with my dad and my mam. We sat down on the most comfy seats, you could sink right in to them. The temperature wasn't too hot or too cold, it was just right! The noise from the audience was a little loud but you can't control these things. The best thing about the Maxime Cinema is definitely the prices! The tickets are only £3.50, what a bargain! You can also guarantee they'll have the most up to date movies like Wonka! They also do special showings for younger children like "Peppas Cinema Party" Which I think is fantastic!

Went to watch Tenet. Music was Far too loud. Social distancing was well organised but soon as film started people did move seats.
Cinema was very clean with a one way system set up.
A staff member should sit and watch people and then maybe get the sound to the right level.

If I could give 0 stars for this single experience I would! I’ve been publicly humiliated as the public laughed me out of the establishment. As a 24 year old I have been declined a seat to watch an 18 rated film. Think the staff need training on how to ID people as I’m clearly over the film age. I drove to the cinema looking forward to this film brightening my day and now my night has been ruined, thanks a lot! The staff then mocked me by asking if I wanted to watch ghostbusters, smirking whilst saying it, which I was very offended by “as I’m clearly over the age”. I am really disappointed as I’ve never experienced such ludicrous behaviours in this establishment. Do better.

I love the way this Art Deco cinema has been lovingly restored. It has 5 cinemas and shows films as they are released, including toddler and autism friendly showings and event cinema. Love it here.

Lovely visit this afternoon - I rarely go to places recently and feel they are actually clean and presentable but toilets, carpets everything well cared for and clean! Well done to the staff (who also look good in their black and white uniforms). Great little cinema with a nice personal feel. A touch of class and old fashioned standards keep it up.

I often come on this site just to read the one star reviews. Really gives an insight to the place.

So this cinema is fantastic. Great value for money. Clean throughout even the toilets.
Friendly staff. Pick and mix was a bit low on options though.

We all had a great time.

That disappointed me so much that there was nothing to complain about, im complaining that you failed to disappoint me 😡

Missed the end of the film because my friend was evicted for using google on her mobile phone. Got the impression that staff are poorly trained and lacking in manners when dealing with customers. My friend was humiliated. She was not even allowed to get her coat and bag or tell us what had happened. Don't use this cinema unless you are prepared to be treated like a naughty child. Never again.

Me and my partner visited the cinema recently and we were both very dissatisfied with our experience. We regularly go to the cinema and were looking forward to seeing the new cinema however we will not be returning again even with the cheaper ticket prices. The staff were all unfriendly and much more interested in talking loudly with each other which made us feel unwelcome and awkward. The screen room was nice and intimate however the background music was not turned off during all the adverts and trailers and was only turned off as the film began. Also the volume of the film was very quiet and I found it difficult to hear everything that was said. It is a shame that this trip has put us off going, however our overall experience at the cinema does not compare to that you get in others.
