Water mills and the power of the green
Apr 2017 • Friends
Wonderful place to rest and walk. The air is indeed so pure that you feel immediately the difference. Wonderful place for adventures and the Knowledge about Nature. There is a camping site and bungalows. What strikes the most is the adventure they call "from tree to tree", are you that brave? Surely lots of fun.
Another very interesting feature is the complex of water mills. A lot to learn about the way the water can be used to generate energy. The mills are different and each one has a story of its own....

quality moments either to relax, adventure and enjoy nature.
Aug 2015 • Family
It´s a great park in the top of the mountain, you need a car to get there, and there's a car park right outside.

Here you can find dozens of activities, such as:
hiking,
adventure sports
enjoy the nature
Playgrounds for the kids
swimming pool
restaurants and bars
camping
etc

Everything for very reasonable prices, you can enjoy a full day with family.

I´ll return here for sure.

Holidays in a bungalow on the mountains!
Aug 2014 • Family
The park have 3 bungalows and we and our friends (more two couples with kids as well) rented the three bungalows.
We were there for 6 days (5 nights) and we really enjoy this place. Everybody have a lot of space, it's not overcrowding, a lot of trees, good facilities (swimming pool, pedestrian trips, radical sports attractions...) and this region is really amazing... We went to the small rivers, we really enjoy the typical food and the persons are really nice.
Next year I will be here again... For sure. There are much more to see... Much more adventures to live on the mountain!!!

Deserted Bioparque
Mar 2012 • Couples
If you happen to go there in the off season you may eventually come across an employee at the office (we did, although when we came back from our walk we couldn't find him anymore).
As far as walking on your own goes the place is very nice and really worth a visit.

I believe in heaven
Jul 2011 • Friends
I’ve recently gone on a trip with some friends and colleagues to the Bioparque (natural park) of Pisão, Carvalhais, in S. Pedro do Sul, Portugal. When I got there, I thought I was in heaven. It’s a wonderful place not only for its lovely mountain scenery (Serra da Arada), varied fauna and flora species, but also for its peculiar watermills and waterway system (aqueducts) - the water runs along on either carved tree logs or on stones down to the little mill houses. You can visit the mills down the hill, get inside and see them working. As there is plenty of water all over the mountain, you can see nice crystal clear water pools, waterfalls and cascades splashing everywhere and you feel like jumping into the water for some refreshing time. I wondered why I haven’t been to that place before!
There’s a big swimming pool, a bar and a good restaurant (S. Tiago) where we tried some of the best typical Portuguese dishes. There’s a great variety of outdoor activities you can do in the nature like swimming, trekking, rappel, treasure hunt, traditional games, bow and arrow, mountain climbing, BTT, paintball or treetop walking. We also tasted some homemade maize flour cake (broa) and the typical honey of the region all washed down with a sweet refreshing Champaign sangria drink. Really awesome!
