We visited 3 National Parks and either sailed or drove through 3 more and without a doubt this was the highlight. Undoubtedly that also probably says something about us but compared to the much lauded Krka and Plitvice this park was a welcome breath of...More

Do not go with the hordes of tourists and pay to enter the park. Buy yourself a decent map and head to such peaks as Bojin kuk or Golic. In Starigrad maps can be bought from the hiking store (beside the tennis courts). These other...More

We were not going to visit this NP, but changed our minds and were so pleased we did. The walk up the valley is quite steep and the stones are a bit shiny even in the summer, but the views and the ambience are well...More

Took us about 1 hour 15 mins. Strenuous walk and climb, but a great half day. Take water - although they do sell at the cave. Cave is worth a visit and is guided. Takes about 20 mins.

This park charges almost €10 per adult in high season. There are several hiking trails to embark on however they offer no maps of those for you to follow, not even one from which a photo can be taken. The signs then appear far too...More

Fantastic, but don’t just amble up the gorge with the masses. Turn left or right, walk for an hour or so up steep paths (500m vertical?) and be rewarded with solitude, tranquility and views to remember.

We had a puppy with us, so we could not go on any crazy long walks, but based on some blog advice I drove (and my husband cycled) up to Veliko Rujno, where a road leads to and you still get great views.

There's no lakes in the park. You can dip into the river or, even better, go for a swim in the sea, which is richt by the entrance.
