Breathtaking views with high mountains around. We took a short hike with our young son of 7. The route we chose after passing Entrance 1 (easier trails) was steep a little but paved.
Tickets can be puchesed via card but take cash with you if you want buy sg in the cafe. (no ATM in the park).
It is not recommended for prams.
No maps available at the ticket office (at least we did not find), recommended to download one or take some photos of the maps after the entrance. Note no net available in the park.

Entrance to the park 10 euro/p + parking
A beautiful 2-hour hike, half shade, half sun, with a difference in altitude of 492 m. Have good shoes because the stones are rather slippery when you come back down.
There are other longer routes with shelters for sleeping.
A refuge restaurant offers you a lardon bean soup for 6 euros/p. Excellent soup.

I highly recommend, the greenery of beautiful rocks, canyon without water damage.
A well-kept place

We didn't book any tickets online beforehand as you simply couldn't book them on the website. We were staying directly in Seline and only had a short drive to entrance 1 (Velika Paklenica, large gorge). You can park right in the gorge, about 1-2km from the entrance. At the entrance you get the ticket (10 euros per person) and the parking ticket (2 euros per day). We then followed the nature trail which runs along the main route. We then walked to the Manita Pec cave (note: only open until 1 p.m.). From the parking lot to the cave you have to expect a steep climb lasting 2 hours in total. Entry to the cave costs another 5 euros, which you pay directly in front of the cave (entrance). Note: only CASH is possible! There is then a guided tour in English. In 15 minutes you get to 2 chambers which are really impressive. The guided tour talks in English for 15 minutes. You walk back alone. The path is reasonably well lit. Taking pictures: please do not use flash. We then saw some of the Winnetou filming locations that were marked. If you walk quietly and carefully and look around a bit, you might even see snakes. We briefly saw one in a crevice on the main path (probably a grass snake), but it disappeared very quickly. So you don't have to be afraid, they disappear quickly if the ground shakes. We were also very lucky to see a chamois on the main path right at the entrance, unfortunately it too, disappeared too quickly :-) You can also look at a bunker (also costs extra), but we didn't do it because we didn't have enough time. It is an absolute paradise for rock climbers. We saw a few people on the rock who were trying it. The display boards (educational trail) were all very interesting and written in Croatian and English.

Route mapped out via Strava to Bujin Kuk. Although the route is reasonably well indicated via red/white marketing, we turned out to have walked 4 km longer (19.3 km instead of 15.5 km). Difficult terrain, but doable for fit, experienced (mountain) hikers. Just make sure you bring enough water and food!

We are not climbers (family with two children) but still enjoyed the walk through canyon of Velika Paklenica. Mountain walls are stretching few hundred meters high, birds flying over peaks, climbers left and right are trying to reach heights of different levels - we were watching with interest and amazement.
There is also a kind of museum drilled in the mountain tunnels.
We visited the park on the way to the sea coast. We will for sure visit again but having more time available.

It’s a bit of a tramp from the he car park. The trail starts riding up and comprises a rocky trail of steps, before levelling out. It then becomes a nicely shaded path that takes you to the foresters house - a small lodge and cafe serving bean soup and the like. Take cash.

We did one of the official recommended loop Mala Paklenica - Njiva Lekina - Velika Paklenica and came by educational trail back to the car parked in Mala Paklenica parking lot(Seline). All trail loop is about 22km, we did in 9 hours with many stops for photos. The trail is very well marked and it is recommended for advanced hikers. Beware that you will need to climb/jump some boulders and rocks! It starts in Mala Paklenica canyon, where we were completely alone enjoying amazing pristine nature around. Partially, you need to walk through the river basin which is in the winter months flooded, however at the beginning of the spring in starts to dry up so it is possible to walk there. Be very careful and always aware as we experienced some falling rocks (luckily from the safe distance). From Mala you continue to Njiva Lekina plateau and connect to Velika Paklenica were you descent whole canyon to its beginning. There you connect to the educational trail which will lead you back to Seline where is the entry 2 from which we started. It was one of the most amazing hikes we have ever did, however, despite wasn’t the longest, it was very demanding. Definitely, I wouldn’t do this loop oppositely as it looked to me more difficult and less enjoyable. Bring a water, the place to refill is in Velika Paklenica. I definitely recommend to visit this park and do this loop as it is totally worth it as the nature is just wow!

tour center built at the highest level. flawlessly organized parking. wide built-up access roads. there are many information boards along the hiking routes. rocky, groomed, maintained paths. we did the tour to the Manita Pec cave. the estimated times to complete the route are very accurate. the cave can be visited with a super, English-speaking guide.

Best people, employees, beautiful nature, best experiences.. Best place for climbing with friends and to have fun. Also for hiking, more than 100 hiking routes with every single one leading to the mountain hut. There works and lives the best dorwoman Irena. It is the place where you can learn new things, try homemade food, sleep and have a nice and chill time.

I was surrprised how well neat this national park is. You have wide way up to “Planinska koča Paklenica” and drinking water and toilets allong the whole way. This way is really undemanding and appropriate for the majority of people. I would suggest to start with the hike in the early morning because it gets really hot at the afternoon. And it is quite the long way.
The only thing which bothered me are the paths to “Vaganski vrh” and “Struge”. Those two paths were really very poorly marked so we had a challenging time to find the way. And if you are affraid of snakes those two paths are not for you.
