Cobbald Gorge is a truly amazing feature in the middle of the great savannah land. We stayed in the cabins which were comfortably outfitted with the basics needed for an overnight stay. The scenery at the gorge is breathtakingly beautiful - the boat cruise is a must-do.

We stayed at Cobbold Gorge Village on a powered caravan site. Although it was very hot (36C) and dry when we visited, the site we chose captured the breezes. Overall the Resort has been very well designed, with great amenities, a welcoming bar, a large shady deck, AND the wonderful, inviting infinity pool. Top marks from us! The restaurant served... A well-maintained, gravel road from Georgetown. Stayed at Cobbled Village & ate at their restaurant (book a table as soon as you arrive). Lots of birds. Tour next morning was interesting and informative, with bush walk, information about plants, visit to the site of a historical grave & the old road from Charters Towers to Normanton, a view of the... I drove around Australia in a camper van in June/July and one of the places I now long for is Cobbold Gorge. The beautiful surroundings, the birds singing , the cool dip in the pool and not to forget the boat trip. The camper place was spacious and had both electricity and water to a small cost. A visit here... More

From the air conditioned four wheel drive bus to the electric powered punts, to the coffee and cake deal back at the restaurant, this is the best 3 hour tour since Gilligan's Island. And the pool at the resort is pretty impressive too. Now for the acqua-golf!

We travelled by bus to the entrance to the gorge. There we loaded onto boats with electric motors to minimise the noise. Such a peaceful and beautiful trip. Not long enough

Our tour with Ben was fantastic. He was loaded with interesting facts and stories about the area, including the plants and wildlife. The walking tour of the area is about 2 km and they have walking sticks for loan at the start. The story of John Corbett and his demise was fascinating. The gorge is pristine and peaceful and the... Following a recommendation we were very pleased we visited the gorge. We stayed with another couple in two vans on powered sites. The sites were well organised and convenient without the need to detach. We booked the morning tour which was fantastic. Peter our guide was both informative and amusing. While walking along the tracks we learnt much about the... More
