This is a very modern and moving sculpture at the same time set on a historic site of Omaha beach D-day landing.
It's set just behind the classic stone monument which stands by the big free parking lot.
The sculpture represents the Brave men landing, hence its name with three wings representing Freedom, Hope and Fraternity.

This is one of many monuments along Omaha beach. It is at the waters edge and so is sometimes beyond the waterline. It is a peaceful sculpture in memory of the many thousands who died on this battle ground.
Other exhibits explain the history and some of the actions taken by the Nazi’s in the 4 years of occupation.

This sculpture is on Omaha beach, easy to access and photograph. It’s very moving and there is an display near it explaining the artist’s intent. It looks different approaching it from different directions. I’m no art critic, but I liked it and it seems to capture some of the feeling there.

This monument is actually located on the beach. It is between the memorial by the road and the ocean. The shimmering metal structure is really interesting and looks quite different from different angles. It almost looked like blades or sails rising from the sand. There are information boards on the street facing the ocean.
It was nice to walk around and admire. There are sticks around the monument so be sure to keep behind them to protect the monument.

What a place to visit to the American D-Day beach with a memorial placed in the sand, not to be missed on your tip to Normandy and the little lad we had with us could run aup and down the beach, weather was grim but that's October

Sculpture to honor the fallen American soldiers, located on the Omaha Beach, Normandy. There is a sign explaining its meaning on the street.
Les Braves consists of three elements:
The wings of Hope
So that the spirit which carried these men on June 6th, 1944 continues to inspire us, reminding us that together it is always possible to changing the future.
Rise, Freedom!
So that the example of those who rose against barbarity, helps us remain standing strong against all forms of inhumanity.
The Wings of Fraternity
So that this surge of brotherhood always reminds us of our responsibility towards others as well as ourselves.
On June 6th, 1944 these man were more than soldiers, they were our brothers.

No visit to Omaha Beach will be complicated without a look at the Les Braves sculpture on the now tranquil soft sandy beach at Omaha. Depiction of the lives lost 75 years ago. Take a moment to reflect. Lest we forget....

Nice to memorialize the brave and amazing men on the beach, as the beach, though beautiful is quiet and large. I found the cemetery to have a bit more of an impact.
