Nice museum, hostile staff member.

Lovely museum, poor welcoming staff.

My 3 kids visited the museum while my husband and I got a few souvenirs. Upon asking to use the bathroom we got denied by a lady museum assistant in very stern way. Apparently the lavatory is exclusively for those who enter the museum and not for those who accompany children or purchase merchandise at their store. Manager, the museum is great, but please tell staff to be more family and people friendly, it would make the experience so much better! Thanks!

A must visit
Sep 2019
The Omaha Beach Memorial Museum is a place which basically features a wonderful exhibition of various memorabilia, weapons, and a range of other items. They are meant to show how the US army went about landing on Omaha beach and what went on during that time. This is a very moving place and is worth visiting if you happen to be in the area.

Remembering the Fallen
Jul 2020 • Friends
Visited the Omaha beach museum as part of a lads biking week away, remembering the fallen brave. The museum had so many old tanks, machine guns and Second World War items that it brought everything to life, an eye opener on reality. Well worth the visit and the stories of veterans on the walls definitely awe inspiring.

Tanks out front
Jan 2020
We came by just after New Year and it looked like they weren't open yet. The museum is on the road that leads to the beach so it is hard to miss. There were quite a few things in the parking lot including artillery guns and a tank. We just parked out in the driveway and had a quick look at these items. It would have been nice to have gone in but we made due with what we had.

Thank you for your post. Indeed, the museum is closed during winter time. We hope you'll have the occasion to come back in the area.

A piece of history
Dec 2019
I could not believe all the artifacts from the D-Day landing. What better way to pay homage to the heros who fought and perished just a few yards away. Don't miss this museum.

highly informative

a very necessary guide to the history of the Allied forces and WW II. We spent two days, began with the 360 cinema, then this museum, then pointe du hoc and finally the American cemetery. A very emotional two days, a personal tribute to the costly and hard won victory of our forces.

mind blowing
Sep 2019
My husband and I each had a father who had served in WWII so we thought this would be a place we should see to honor their service. Neither of us was prepared for how emotional it would be. We each thought we were fairly well informed about D-Day but we learned so much more.
It was a very emotional day.

An excellent overview of the entire D-Day Operation.
Sep 2019
We went to see the Cemetery and we were so glad we went through this museum. It is a very comprehensive exhibit of the entire operation and offers insights you would not otherwise get.
