I've been going there for several years in the height of summer, I've been there a couple of times to spend the August bank holiday. It takes about a couple of hours from Bologna to arrive. The route starts from the Sanctuary. Within about half an hour (depending on the pace) you arrive at the beautiful waterfalls, where you can stand to take photos and stop on some rocks for a picnic. The place is very suitable especially on very hot days as it is cool and feels great. Then if you want you can continue the walk to get up to the refuge (I did it a year it takes about three hours at a "normal" pace). Suitable for families with children (the first piece), no stroller given the route with ups and downs and rocks. The car park in front fills up easily (especially on busy days) but there is always a hole in the road. In the street, on the right before arriving at the sanctuary, there is a restaurant, a fixed stop for refreshments, but always full. We generally bring sandwiches with us to have a picnic on the rocks near the waterfalls in the middle of nature. Since there are very large and thick trees, around 3.30/4.00 pm the sun filters less and even on the most summer days the light fades.

The Dardagnanso falls can be reached in several ways: comfortably from the car park which is just over a couple of kilometres away; or after a 12km trek! The feeling of getting wet after so much effort I assure you that it is regenerating! WARNING, however, the water all year round is really cold! Wet only if ready to suffer a little!

Pleasant walk in the dense woods of the park to discover the many waterfalls along this stream which can be reached via a path from the Sanctuary of the Madonna dell'Acero, but also from the square right in front of the Cavone ski lift (well-marked path). From the latter it doesn't take long to reach the waterfall located higher up. However, it is necessary to face a steeply sloping section with many steps. This waterfall, which seemed to me to be the most beautiful, is made up of a series of successive jumps that end in a contained basin and then quickly flow out. At this point there is no space to rest comfortably, but some flat rocks allow you to spend some relaxing moments.

The Dardagna bubbles and tumbles its way for some distance along its beautiful sylvan valley, but the highlight is the big falls towards its upper end. Worth a trip for a lovely walk.

a beautiful walk in the fresh air surrounded by trees and waterfalls, we didn't swim because it was June but even just walking among the chirping of the birds and the sound of the waterfalls makes you feel in a special place... truly like experiencing peace!
