Pramen Vltavy je krátkou (cca 4-8km do kopce) vzdálenost od Kvildy.
Pramen řeky má velmi chutnou, studenou vodu. Je tam informační tabule a mnoho cyklistických a turistických tras vedoucích od pramene.

The source of the Vltava is a short (around 4-8km uphill) distance from Kvilda.
The source of the river has very tasty, cold water. There is an info board and many cycling and hiking routes leading from here.

Visited family in Kvilda and rented electric scooters from a nearby pension. There is so much to see in the park. I am glad we got to experience it with a local as there is a lot to do and see and a lot of history to experience.

National park of Šumava - The green roof of Europe is definitely of the the hidden gem (in terms of not very tourist) in the middle of Europe and full of natural sigths. And the source of Vltava is definitely the sight that is worth to visit. From Kvilda it is about 8km to the source (with modest ascent) - and the best option is going by bike, because the tour can be extended to Modrava and further on.

Travel around this part of Sumava for couple of days, lots of history there, but also lots of Turist and many places it's Turist trap. Nothink cheap in high season, have to pay what they charge, no discount, much beter off to get out of beaten path.

This is a huge area with endless possibilities to walk/ride on bikes or go by car. Everything is green, forests and water are miles and miles ahead. You should pack some good hiking shoes and take some "water shoes" as well.
