The church is open every day, an has a fascinating history. Links with the Celts, Romans and Francis Bacon - also a famous cricket club!

Peaceful Haven
May 2019 • Couples
Well worth stopping off here with lovely views all around. Depending on prevailing light should be good for photography too. Some great shots to be had.

Peace by the Wye
Mar 2019
I went into the very old and tranquil St.Michael’s Church early one morning in March when the river was very high and actually coming into the churchyard. Very peaceful and I sat for a few minutes of contemplation alone. Thank you.

A nice place to reflect, quiet and serine . A very old church that needs to keep going . Adding your name to a book inside helps .

A church worth visiting
Jul 2018 • Couples
St Michaels Church Tintern is in a lovely quiet spot by the Wye River bank. Entry is via Parva Farmhouse and Riverside Guesthouse. Best time to visit is late afternoon. Although a small church it has a lovely peaceful atmosphere with an interesting history. On a still evening by the river when the water is like glass you can get the most amazing mirror image picture of the trees

Tranquility
Jun 2018 • Couples
Well worth a visit if only just to escape the heat of the day but very peaceful and tranquil and unusually these days - unlocked. Easy access from the road or along the riverside path and a complete contrast to the old church burnt down in 1977 and now very much overgrown but equally worth a visit - if you can find it.

roof being fixed
Aug 2017 • Couples
We passed this village church whilst walking from the old Tintern railway station to Tintern. unfortunately The roof is being restored (august 2017) and the outside had wriggly tin around it and the pews etc inside had protective plastic coverings. otherwise it would have been a quaint and picturesque little village church. so, because of this, we could not give it a better review rating, however, we would like to revisit, if passing, once the restorations are completed.
