I found this place by chance and love to visit places in my home county of Essex. What an absolute treasure Boydells Farm is! My 8 year old daughter had an amazing day seeing how a real farm works. She got to milk a cow, hold a chick, bottle feed the lambs, feed the chickens and ducks and became very... More

This place is amazing! A family-run farm, which is delightfully uncommercial - a real gem in our high-tech world. The down to earth approach is excellent and really worth the visit. Child can milk a cow, feed lambs (at the right time of year), get close to the pigs, cows and numerous other animals. The ride-on toy tractors are also... More

Get there early! Boydells only opens on Fri-Sun in term time and opens at 2pm. Lovely farm, great staff which aren't at all fazed by the number of screaming kids near their animals! Good facilities. Free tea and coffee and a small shop. Had their Sheep milk ice cream which was delicious. Would really benefit from a coffee/cake shop but... More

We went here for the first time yesterday (bank holiday Monday) and, although it was very busy, it was such a brilliant afternoon! The staff were all very friendly, there was lots to do and see - my 3 year old got to milk a cow, cuddle a sheep and hold a chick as well as see all the other... More

Took my family for the fourth time. Had an amazing afternoon! For such a small family business the effort put in by all to give a fun, educational experience was huge. Very hands on with everyone getting a chance to have a go if they want. Well done and thanks Boydells! You put other attractions to shame. See you again

I'd never been before but there's not many open farms that provide such a hands on experience, and despite being a busy day, Easter Saturday, we all were encouraged to hug a lamb, milk a cow or cuddle a chick, will definitely be back

The best farm experience for children of all ages and adults! The tour is well worth the time and the opportunities children have to hold animals wonderful! Nice picnic area but take your own food!

My children love Boydells Farm, we have been there several times and my children adore holding the animals and feeding them. It is great to have such hands on experience with animals and that is what makes it so different to other farms we have visited. It is really good value to get in and we will definately be visiting... More
