you can find interesting information about the island and its great history in here! there are great frescos and mosaics worth seeing up-close-definitely a must!

This comparatively small museum houses a wealth of interesting artefacts, but the mosaic floors are fabulous! Very impressive.

The small museum costs 4 Euro and well worth it, several rooms with mosaics from Mytilene of exceptional quality. Several small sculptures and small beads and some pottery, but the reason for the visit are the mosaics.

Great for the mosaics. Unfortunately no A/C, so concentration levels fade, not helped by the hawk-like shadow of an unfriendly gallery assistant that accompanies you to switch on/off lights!
