The castle in the springtime is beautiful with all the flowers. It is a nice place to bring a lunch and a book and relax on a bench under the trees. Also if you enjoy history there is a lot of ancient buildings and ruins...More

The old castle of Mytilene. Great view towards the city of Mytilene and over the Eagean Sea. As Turkey was very close by, the Greek started building a protective fortress around 1054 BC.

It’s a beautiful castle with a long story. Everyone has to visit it so you will have the opportunity to understand it’s architecture, and take pictures of it and from the town of Mytilene from above

Totally worth a visit with a guide. The water reservoir is particularly stunning. Incredibly relevant to understand the history of the island. Look down at the old Port (roman) from the castle to see the actual old dock now submerged

We came here this afternoon. It was 2€ each admission. It's quite a big place. There is some renovations going on and plenty to see. Some great views of the town and sea.

A good walk from a town of Mytilene up and over the hill to the castle! Although there is some signage it’s not really a good visit as there are no real guides to the castle which looks very uncared for and really does not...More

This castle is easy to get to, yet still steep enough to be a challenge for people wanting to get up to the top. If you take your time, it's great; don't try to hurry especially if it is raining as the pathways are not...More

it is worth visiting as the place is very well preserved-a lot of cultural events-mostly concerts are held in the summer here-there is also a small forest around it, which is worth strolling and exploring-a must if you visit Mitilene
