We spent a week in Carrapateira and were able to have the active, varied, outdoor holiday we wanted thanks to Carrapateira Extreme. We had two days of surf lessons with a very patient and encouraging instructor, and we rented mountain bikes for a stunning loop ride through farmlands, forests, river valleys, and along the coast - incredible variety in a two hour ride! The surf lessons were top notch, and the mt bikes were fine (mine was perfect, the one my son used had a loose chain ring, and they were all pretty dusty - BUT we ended up paying half price which was very fair). They are relaxed yet always punctual and they answered my many email questions quickly. I would have loved to do the coastal SUP trip as well had conditions allowed it. I highly recommend this outfitter.

One of the most beautiful ridingtours i have ever done! Amazing landscapes (cliffs, nearly empty beaches, old pinrtree forrests...) a realöy nice tourguide that explained a lot about the region and his horses and a lot of fun! Best thing was the galloping along the beach while seeing the sunset over the ocean.
I can really recommend this tour for expirienced horseriders.

We really have enjoyed our riding adventure at the beach during our vacation. The horses were in good shape, our riding instructor gave us helpful instructions and showed us the landscape.

This was a horrible experience for my sister who fell off the horse and instead of being compassionate and reassuring her, the guide tried to sell her herbal life which I’m guessing is another job of his! My sister was within the weight limit and her fall had nothing to do with weight as she simply slipped off on an uneven path. She actually came back to the Airbnb crying because of the insensitive comments made by the guide! He kept going on about ‘better quality of life’ and needing to lose weight and how he could help her achieve that. We went there for fun and to have a new experience not to look for a personal trainer. Would never recommend this to anyone and they clearly need training in customer service or simple basic manners!

I really recommend the surf class with Guy! If you do exactly what he says you will get it and will go home with a big smile on your face :) Most people in the class were first timers and they all did great, standing up on their first surf class :D I had other surf experiences and this was for sure the best! Thanks Guy!

This beach horse riding trip was absolutely wonderful. The guide is lovely and responsible, and knows his horses very well. The tour along beach, through pine forests, sandy paths and cliffs is stunning. If you have riding experience (I do, but did not ride since 15 years) you are invited to ride in Galopp along the sunset beach - a childhood dream coming true. Lovely horses that are friendly and know their way around give you a feeling of safety all the way. It was pure joy and so worth the money. Thank you, Nunu (and Joline) and all of the team for this lovely evening!!

**Amazing Experience!**
I had the most incredible horseback riding experience with my girlfriend last Saturday. Our guide, Nelson, was simply fantastic! He was not only professional but also extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He took us to some breathtaking spots that we would never have discovered on our own.
The horses, Jolie and Amora, were absolutely wonderful—gentle, well-trained, and full of character. They made the ride comfortable and enjoyable for both of us, even as beginners. The entire experience lasted almost two hours, and every moment was memorable.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure. We can't wait to come back!

Unfortunately, it rained the day of our ride and we weren't able to reschedule due to our itinerary. Bea from Carrapateira Extreme Tours did reach out to us to let us know - being a horse person myself, I completely understood the situation. They refunded us quickly. I would not hesitate to give it another try with them when we return!

Even though was bit of a drive was well worth experiencing an the tour guide was amazing horses were so well maintained and behaved heck was also adventurous definitely recommend

The ride was really fun. Nelson was a great tour guide. Really knowledgeable. He advised us not to ride on our day because of the wind but due to travel I couldn't reschedule. He still accommodated us. It was really windy but it was still fun. Rode up the mountain and down to the beach. We we're accompanied by his dog Tarzan. He was our little guard dog heading out first to check for dangers. Loved Tarzan, definitely recommend for anyone.
