About
Explore amazing costumes, fun props, and watch rare footage at the museum. Almost every Sunday (10:30am-12:00pm) and every opening day in July from 11am-01pm, you can also try out everything from juggling to trapeze at Circus Fun. A circus artist will be able to guide you. The museum puts on special events during the holidays. The museum is closed during the Christmas holidays. Check the website for special events. 300 metres from the museum you can see one of the 6 forgotten giants, which is also worth a visit.

Wow this place might be a little of of town but well worth the visit - loads of fun! From classes on learning Circus Acts to the craft table where there was loads to make - kept the kids and adults entertained!

We held an 8-year-old's birthday party here. Although not cheap, the price includes up to 25 children (if memory serves) so it's actually one of the better options out there. It's out of the city centre, but easily accessible by train or bus.
I was very impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff: Mie who did a super job of showing the gang around the museum, in English, and the acrobatic lady who took over the last part of the party and taught the kids how to juggle, walk a tightrope and even swing on a trapeze.
There is only one tiny thing; the whole event takes 3.5 hours, and I managed to misunderstand the website information, where it says that the kids can put on a circus show at the end. It would be super if there were an extra line in there specifically stating that parents who want to see the show should come back half an hour before the end (to allow for twits like me who didn't get it). :-)

Brilliant Team Building event! We had a great team event! After the guided tour of the Circus Museum, we ourselves got a chance to dive into the magic of Circus. We had our self-perception 'shaken' (I was several times thinking... this I can not do... - but I did!); learned new skills, saw each other in a new light, worked together in new ways - and most importantly - HAD FUN!

This was relatively far out of Copenhagen main centre, but just one bus ride which stopped right outside the museum. It was very easy to find and well signposted. When we got there there were several buildings, one of which housed the museum. The museum was good fun; a good balance of dressing up for kids, questions around morality of circus animals, information and costumes on display. We then went to another building which was holding open sessions for kids to try out the equipment, a lot of fun. From hula hoops to the trapeze my daughter had a great time trying out equipment which she would have never had normally had the chance. Really excellent day out and recommend it highly. The shop was also brilliant to pick up a few bits for presents!

Housed in a historic and interesting part of Copenhagen 's past, this museum is a must. The style and breadth of the information imparted relating to the political and international story of the circus no doubt carries on today.
The children's holiday also spawned workshops that my hidden enjoyed SO much thst we returned within the week for more. Run by the talented Line, children can try out gymnastic feats that schools would not be able to provide, and perhaps many world champions are born here.

This is not an easy place to find. I would advise to go only when you have plenty of time as this circus museum is really a small place ( you can finish within 15mins if you don't stop). Not much things to see but every small things are interesting. I loved the souvenir shop.

A little cute place.

Have never heard of a circus museum before. This one has the history, the props, video footage, interesting facts and photos and a quiz for the children. It's great.
