This free museum is small but quite interesting. It is focused on the historical significance of the small town of Preci as the birthplace of modern surgery. Having specialisms of cataracts and castrati it has a wince factor which may be appealing! Well worth a look but only needs half an hour

Walking through Preci you'd never guess this once was a bustling place with doctors, quacks and scholars from all over Europe arriving to learn surgical skills from the best surgeons in the civilzed world. You'd never guess this from the exhibition either. It's rather small with some display cases showing surgical instruments from the 16th century onwards and some concise explanatory texts in Italian. Nice enough, but not worth a detour in my opinion.
