This is the best for your 10,000 steps walk and get a tan at the same time . They do need to start looking after it before it goes in to disrepair. I was here for 3weeks and walked everyday, one of the best easy walks . Also stop off at Ziggys cafe where Mustangs and Zigggy will take care of you.Excellant service and hospitality and a great breakfast.

Our 3rd visit and walk . A purpose built coastal path along the rustic cypriot coastline. Start at the large carpark and walk to Zihini,s little cafe for good value snacks.
Recommend toasted cheese sandwich and mug of tea . Comes with little side salad and cut up orange as a refreshment
Always a friendly welcome and the views are amazing .

Lovely peaceful walk where you can stop off at a little cafe for coffee and / or food. One way leads to the Lapta strip and the other ends at a beach bar. Used by walkers and joggers alike.

Very pleasant for a reasonable walk along this coastal promenade (walkway) in Lapta. Great at any time of way and particularly at dusk and sunset. Parts of it could do with more work to make the pathway better.

Found this by accident by Ezic Restaurant, didn't know what it was, how long it went for or where it finished but spend a happy hour walking along part of it and back again. If we'd known that it's about 3km long we would have kept going to the end and doubtless found Zihni's Café. Never mind, it was a very nice walk.

This is a little advertised coastal walkway in Lapta, North Cyprus. Start from the Wild Duck on the main coast road and take the small tarmac road opposite. At T junction turn right and sharp left, follow tarmac road to end and turn right, following signs for coastal walk. This brings you to a small car park and the beginning of the paved walkway. It stretches for about 1.8Km up to Sardunya Bay, with amazing sea views towards Kyrenia. There is no shade, but plenty of benches along the way if you wish to rest. As you near the end of your walk, a small white kiosk can be seen, and this is an ideal opportunity to stop and rest, have a cup of tea or coffee, water or beer, and a snack . The owner is a local man who cannot do enough for you, from supplying face wipes, free water, free pastries and free fruit. This is a small oasis along your walk where you can sit under his umbrellas and pay small amounts for tea/coffee, whilst chatting to the owner and enjoying the magnificent views. There is also a spotless toilet free to use. If you then continue for another 200M you reach the end of the walk, overlooking Sardunya bay and beach bar with a small sandy beach and unfinished hotel.

Started the walk unprepared and in sandals but having a lovely walk away from the noise and bustle of the local towns. Stopped for tea and a snack at Zihni’s cafe (thanks for the Wi-fi code!). Last 1/2km to go before setting back.

Wonderful place to get exercise and enjoy the scenery. Zinnhis Coastal cafe halfway along the walk, great place to stop for breakfast, coffee or fresh orange or just a chat. He is open for all of that! The walkway is to be extended and I am looking forward to that immensely. Fabulous to get moving and have the sea breeze in your face, no traffic fumes, dust or noise. Just sea breeze, birds and peace. Heaven.

Agree your best bet is to take the Dolmus and ask for the Silver Rocks. The driver's English is not always that good by in my experience they will recognise hotel and restaurant names. Not sure of the fare but it is only 7TL from Girne to Lapta so not going to break the bank!
The Silver Rocks is well known and is excellent for pre or post walk refreshments.

We are staying in karaoglanoglu where is this walk?
Written June 15, 2018
It runs from the coast at Lapta going west, so a dolmus ride from Karaoglanoglu to the start of it.

Just reading latest posts and notice a comment saying Zinnis is now doing kebabs etc. Has he extended the menu, cannot remember seeing them before. We visit again in August and am looking forward to walking the full length of walkway. Regular stop offs look good.

Hi yes they do I went and checked

Morning Civelek, great news that they have managed to complete the walkway. We always do Zinnis first thing in the morning, sets us up for the rest of the day. Silver Rocks is usually an evening meal by the setting sun! We go back again in August, on countdown already.

Hi can anyone tell me if the pathway now goes from the Sempati towards the Silver Rocks. When we were there last year it finished at the Sempati, although the plans were shown for the bridges etc still to be built. I agree with the comments about Zinhis café, it is a fabulous oasis in the middle of a lovely relaxing coastal walk. He is a real gent and always gives freebies (remember to tip generously). Then take a stroll to Sardunya bay, have a swim, drink, something to eat, then a slow walk back. Brilliant cannot wait to go back next year.

We have just returned sept 17 and whilst the stanchions are in place and can be seen from silver rocks it has not been finished.

Sempti to Sardunya is only about five minutes away.

We are staying in kyrenia where does this walkway start from please as I would love to do it many thanks
Written February 14, 2016
Hello Heather, it starts in a few places at the moment, as it is not all joined up yet. You could start from Sardunya Bay end and walk all the way up towards Lapta, (take a dolmus to Sardunya Bay sign and walk down to the bay or if you have hire car drive down to the bay). \Or another place actually brings you to the middle of the walkway down past Hotel Sempati and the olive Bar, following the signs to the walkway - it shows the European Flag and a disabled sign, if walking it is quite a walk, but if driving it is rough but ok. I hope this helps it will go over the sea in one place, but last time that part was not done. Hope this helps.

We shall be staying at Hotel Manolya and would like directions to coastal walk from our hotel
Written August 21, 2015
Hello just down the road from Hotel Manolya a new piece of the walkway has been added, near Rosie's Place and Increli Plaj on the sea side, it will all eventually join up into 1.5 km long. Otherwise if you take a dolmus to Flippers and cross the road walking down past Olive Bar follow the signs to the pathway, it is quite a walk from the main road, if you have a hire car, it is easy just to follow the signs from Flippers, which is on the left, you need to turn down past Hotel Sempati on the right.
