Disappearing water
Sep 2015 • Couples
Travelled along to Sacedon to see the lakes which looked an amazing complex on the map. The reality is quite a shock, with large areas of Rio Seco and the small amount of water left looking like a dribb;e in the bottom of a bath. Lots of dusty boats in the boatyards! Sad.....

SAVE THE LAKE!!
Aug 2015 • Solo
The Spanish government has decided to divert the river close to its origin to Murcia.
From river Tajo to river Segura.
The lake has shrunken by half and will dry up if more water are diverted to dry Murcia instead of taking the water from catalunya or the Basque Country. Easier to take from the few (1700 people) and the poor. Enjoy it while it lasts

Sights along river and in Lisbon
Jul 2013 • Couples
We were on a cruise and although the river was huge it was brilliant. It was well worth getting up early and missing breakfast.Once ashore we went on a tour bus but we seemed to be continuously in a traffic queue the driving was bad and hard to hear through the earphones what was going on. Although it was an on off bus w e and many other people got off the bus and did not return walked about the town which also had some old areas. There was some nice cafes with outside tables also ice cream selection to die for, certainly far nicer than being on the bus. Lisbon is a little hard going in some places for a wheelchair due to the old pavements but with break it is manageable if you avoid the hills.

DISAPPOINTING TOUR ON YELLOW BUS TOURS
Jun 2013 • Friends
Please do not bother with the river trip they provide as part of their City Bus Tour. They took us along the river past the port authority and all you could see were cargo containers! After about 20 mins I went downstairs to the bar and played Angry Birds (I'm 51!) because it was so awful. Luckily after an hour they stopped to let some people on and we were allowed off which we did quickly. Not sure what the other end of the river was like but it wasn't for us.

Hard not to see this from many places in Lisbon. Nice scenery for photographers. You must see while in Lisbon.

River so close, yet so far away
Jul 2012 • Family
Lisbon is situated over the Taugus River but somehow you do not feel it. In Porto you feel it much, much more. There are a few attractions over the river, but somehow there is not much to do and as the river is wide, you do not feel the nature of bridges bringing the town together. Actually most of the city is on one side so I felt Taugus more as a lake ;)

Taugus River
Apr 2012
Another sight I have visited many times and never tire of. Take a river cruise to get the best of seeing Lisbon from the river.

Not a great place to spend hours.

There are not many attractions around. You could visit once. Any tour bus takes you along the river banks.

Very Impressive

The Taugus River looks very wide and many times you do not know if it is a river or the sea. It is a vey long river because it originates in Spain.

Pure magic
Aug 2012
Go to Bairro Alto Hotel rooftop bar during the day or to the Miradouro of S. Vicente at sunset; go to Terreiro do Paço (Praça do Comércio) during the evening or to "Meninos do Rio" or Portugalia Rio at night. I am sure you will fell how magic and beautiful the Tagus river is. No doubt one of the most beautiful river scenarios in the world.
