Early ferry to southernmost island for snorkelling before heading back to see an ancient village on another island and then lunch in makong. Hectic but fun. Don't bother squid fishing in May. No squid for whole boat or the previous one.

In terms of geological formation, Penghu Island and its surrounding islets are truly exceptional. You truly need to see them for yourself. Summer time is definitely the best time to visit this place. When there are more tourists, eateries will open and mini cruise ships would take you to far away places. However, in winter, the main Penghu Island is... More

We loved it. we went there twice and enjoyed it every time .. Great place to go, just between China and Taiwan. First we went just my wife and I, then with 2 other couples, it was fun both times. Great fish and the vibe is so sweet and relax. Worth a trip any time.

My family left Taiwan when I was 13 years old, and I've never visited any of Taiwan's Island Areas, so this time I just bought a ticket to Penghu Island and booked a 2 night stay at MF Hotel not knowing what to expect nor what to plan, all I know from friends were just "ask" the locals, and I... Beaches are white sand and crystal blue waters - and of course mostly deserted. Aimen beach is really nice, and has an outdoor all you eat BBQ restaurant on the beach!

Visited this place for a few hours and there was a lot to see. Beach was wonderful and there were plenty of activities organised, but if you wanted peace and quiet this was easy to find too.

Penghu (N23, E119) is located at the Taiwan western side, and its history of development was even earlier than Taiwan. Before Qing Dynasty ruled Penghu since 1683 , Penghu stood the stage of International commerce among Chinese pirates , Japanese Ronins and European naval fleets. People called Penghu as Pescadores that period. It means "The Island of Fisherman" in Portuguese.... More

We went to Penghu during the firework festival. The firework display was fantastic and it goes on for an entire month twice a week. The island is nice and peaceful. We took a few trips. One to Wangan and Qimei, the other to Bikini island and Jibei. We enjoyed the entire trip but with so much fun and sun we... More
