If you happen to be in Johor Bahru, the nearest beach is Desaru. I have been here several times during my student time and it is really a nice beach. I can be very windy at times and the water are definitely more stronger. Advice caution swimming in it. Sand is very nice, less pollutants as there is always less... More

We left early and cross to checkpoints around 7 on a Sunday morning. Stop over at JB town for breakfast of Tosai/Prata at Amma Restaurant. We drove via the Taman Sentosa route and then via the Sensi-desaru highway. RM9+ toll. Nice bridge on the way. The directional signs are very clear and leads you easily to Desaru beach. The beach... This is about the private beach along the Lotus Desaru hotel. It is clean and well maintained by the hotel staff. I would recommend swimming during high tide though, as the sea floor gets muddier during low tide. I'm sure it's not mud, but it just feels... sludgier somehow. The beach area itself is pretty and nice and relaxing; pretty... More

Desaru beach is quite picture perfect with coconut trees and a lonely looking lifeguard-chair facing the sea. However, you will need to pay rm4 to get access to the beach, and there are hardly any amenities ( no coffee or ice cream, but you can buy a soda stored in a basic hut's acrylic box).

The bech in front of the resorts is clean and the water is easy for swimmers and non swimmers. It is not the best of the beaches but offers a relatively easy weekend beach holiday option from Singapore.

Beach is nice on the Lotus Resort. Good for group gathering and events to be held here since the opening of Pasir Gudang beach opened. Cut the travelling time from JB to half. Accessible from Changi Ferry Terminal next to the airport x 4 times on weekends.

The beach was clean and tidy. Jetski is available, but expensive. Pack your food with you as no restaurants available. Ideal to visit in evening.

Entrance fee to the public beach is rm4 per entry. Reluctant to pay actually, but they reduce it to rm2 coz we arrived at 5pm & the area gonna close by 7pm. Quite surprise with the clean beach with not much sticks or tree branches like what i usually see on other beach. Cant remember, but i think i saw... More

The sand was soft. Nice, cooling weather; not too warm and not too cold, occasional breeze. Loved it :)
