The area
Neighborhood: Tamsui / Bali District
The enchanting Tamsui Old Street boasts the most beautiful Fisherman’s Wharf sunset of Taiwan. There are also well-complimented delectable snacks such as Ah Gei (bean curd) and fish ball, etc. On Bali left bank, there is the Ferry Old Street and Wazihwei Nature Reserve. It is relaxing and comfortable whether by strolling or cruising through on a bike. Besides the bustling business district, Tamsui is also full of an old vintage flavor. From western architectural relics to residences dating back to Japanese rule, each with their respective features and great stories to tell. If you visit Tamsui in spring, the magnificent cherry blossoms of Tianyuan Palace are a must see. If you wish for further intimacy with nature, why not camp out for the night under the starry sky. The Bali culture park camping site offers round, transparent bubble tents. Experience the close, seamless connection to surrounding nature from within for an unforgettable memory.

Nothing special here, tourists should not bother wasting time visiting this mall. The only thing noteworthy is its Starbucks. Which isn't even that big of a deal to begin with. Not recommended.

Has gone out of business

The mall has gone out of business. Quite a pity.

The building itself (newly built, only three years) and its location (opposite to the MRT station) are quite good. Hope a new mall or department store would open on the site before long.

When you and your kids need a break from the heat

This mall wasn't as "exciting" to go to as the ones we usually visit in Taipei, probably due to its size as it didn't take us more than 2 hours to go through all floors.

My wife and I usually start at the top and work our way down.

The entire top floor is a kids' arcade / play area. If you have children, I'm sure they could easily spend hours there.

There are 4-5 floors that are simply restaurants and some of them offer great views of Dan Shui ("daan shway").

What makes a visit to this mall worth it, is a floor near the top that has deep discounts of up to 80% off clothing. From what I recall, it was only women's clothing. It appeared to have "name brands" including a brand called Knights Bridge that is seen in many malls across Taipei.

Another selling feature is a clothing store that occupies the entire floor and sells limited edition print t-shirts. There were National Geographic print shirts, Fist of the North Star, Metal Gear Rising and Disney shirts. These shirts were priced at $599 NT about $20 CDN.

I don't know how "limited" they are but with the way fashion is, print shirts really are in then out. If you see something you like, I recommend buying it because you most likely won't see it again the next time you visit Taiwan.

The food court is relatively small but with the restaurants upstairs, you'll definitely find something to eat.
