Head here in the evening for a pleasant stroll or bike ride along the waterfront and check out the nearby food stands for a variety of traditional snacks and small-eats after that. The promenade is a lot more pleasant than the one at Danshui but if you must, a ferry takes you across the river to Danshui for a small... More

So you probably just got off the Ferry from Tamshui and realize.. well all these vendors are the same as the ones on the other side I just came from.. except for no starbucks. Well.. its time to make best with what you got: Bike Rental and its cheap $100NT for all day.. my vendor was slightly to the right... More

An amazing family-friendly bike trail that comes with harbor views to children's play ground and exercise stops. It's both romantic and fun biking along the many shops too. Be sure to avoid the very first bike rental - bad attitude with poor service + rip off fee. Walk a few steps past to the second vendor that looks like part... More

40 minutes from Taipei City by car/taxi, Bali is also accessible by ferry from Tamshui. Bali is often filled with cyclists and families with kids on the weekends. There are several bike rental shops and tandem bikes are extremely popular here. Go with a friend or family member, rent a tandem bike (there's even a triplet tandem bike!), and you're... More

We love cycling and truly enjoyed Bali being a little island away from the main Taipei. It is just a 10 minutes ferry ride across the straits and tickets could be easily bought along the banks of the Fisherman Wharf. Upon arrival, you would be able to find a bike rental shop easily and the price is reasonable enough for... More

We spent the last day of our Taiwan trip in Taipei's Tamshui neighborhood and stumbled on the Bali bike trail by accident. We were very happy to find this ideal bicycle path along the river bank and rented cycles for us and the kids. Our 5 year old had a terrific time cycling amongst the many Taiwanese enjoying a sunny... More

Visited Bali Bike Trail for the second time. This time even better than the first, because we are 15 people biking through the path in 4 tandem bikes, in the cold cold weather last December, it was 12 oC. I think. This generated a lot of heat for the body and lots of good laughter along the trail, all the... More

Had a great afternoon at Tamshui. Wifey and I took a 5-minute ferry ride to of all places Bali in Taiwan! The ferry ride was quite an awesome experience; sitting on a boat that is just on the same river-mouth water level. The water is a little choppy, but safe. A look at all the faces of those in the boat... More
