The Watchman Trail was one of the first hikes we did in Zion. We probably saw the least amount of people here. The trail was about 3 miles and gained 450 feet of elevation. The majority of this trail is in full sun, so definitely prepare for that and wear sunscreen. It was neat to watch the sun go down... More

We really enjoyed this hike. It was not crowded like some of the other trails. More peaceful and the view it amazing.

If the wait for the Zion Shuttle is over an hour - and it probably will be if you are visiting in July - forget standing in the long line and head directly to Watchman Trail. Be sure to have water and sunscreen, as this hike is in the sun. But worth going to first. It would not be fun... More

A bit strenuous in places. Longer that we thought but did have a great view of the town and the park from way up high.

This is an easy trail that winds in switchbacks up to the top of a night particularly high mountain. There is a loop trail at the top that you may think starts you back down, but it just loops you around to the starting point. You can probably skip the loop. Be sure to pause at the river at the... We hiked the Watchman trail with Ranger Eric who expertly explained the evolution of mammals in the Park up to the Jurrasic Period. The hike is moderate, with a constant incline to a point below the Watchman peak. Would recommend this activity.

Right from the Visitor centre you can start a medium difficulty hike. It took about 2 hours round trip and was really worthwhile. One nice thing is that it wasn't busy at all, think we saw about 10 people total while on the hike which is much different than some of the other hikes in the area. I would be... More

We hiked the Watchman trail at the end of the day. After Angels Landing, Narrows and the Emerald Pools. It provided a different angle of the canyon that we had not seen all day. Not to difficult and not many people on it. If you want to get away from crowds this is you trail.

This trail ends at a viewpoint of the Towers of the Virgin, lower Zion Canyon and Springdale. Moderate hiking trail with some uphill sections although it levels out towards the end.

It's a pretty good hike so make sure to be prepared and have water and possibly some snacks to enjoy the nice view at the end of the trail. No need to take the shuttle on this hike, so this is a great place to start your adventure in Zion!
