The trail starts just at the back of the visitor centre (walk along the river). The trail is easy to moderate. The views get better the high you climb. Get out early to avoid the crowds and heat - take water. A camera is a...More

Great hike. It was steep in spots and had several switchbacks. Great views. I would recommend taking this hike first thing in the morning as there is little shade.

Almost exactly 2 hours round trip. It can get VERY hot as there is no shade. A little tamer than the other Zion hikes. So not to be missed if you are afraid of heights. The view at the top is spectacular, with an almost...More

We took this hike on the day we arrived at Zion. We checked out the visitor center around 4.45pm and then took the trail which was behind the visitor center. The trail started out to be flat along the virgin river and then climbed up...More

Start as early as you can in the morning (we left at 8:00 with Avery, a Ranger) as then most of the ascent will be in shade. It's a great hike up and fairly gradual, with lots of seeps (water seeping out of the rocks,...More

We did this hike as an alternative to our plans for the day as we ran out of time to do the Observation Trail. This is a short hike with some gain to it, but not as bad as Angel’s Landing or Hidden Canyon elevation...More

We went early, parking in the Visitor Center, and had the trail practically to ourselves. A little bit of a climb, but good footing and wide enough for those with problems with heights. The views from the top were gorgeous. Took almost 2 hours up/down...More

The Watchman Trail begins at the Visitor Center, so you don't have to worry about taking the shuttles for this hike. We did this hike in the morning, and at this time, it is almost completed shaded. It is an easy to follow path and...More

Shorter out and back than some other trails, but has great views and is a pleasant hike. Take the loop at the top. It adds a little extra, but has beautiful spots to view the canyon. If it is extremely hot, would go early in...More
