Great views

Steep in places but manageable. Good place for sunset views. Take plenty of water. Interesting for plants and rocks.

This is a nice trail that begins at the visitor center and heads up to a high lookout over the canyon. The trail climbs but is mostly gradual and not too difficult. The views from the top are great. There is a short loop at the top before returning down on the same route. Arrive early to avoid crowds as... More

Classed as moderate as there is a 300 feet elevation gain. Good views from the viewpoint in the loop section at the top.

We hiked Watchman Trail as the last trail of a 2 day trip to Zion NP. It took us around 3 hours RT, which included breaks and stopping at the top for pictures and to enjoy the views. It rained almost the entire day, but that allowed for a beautiful fog and haze to rest over the valley and canyon... More

Absolutely loved this trail. Once you get to the top the views are amazing. Easy access from visitor center.

We only saw 2 other people on this trail when we hiked it in the early evening; a welcome change from the busyness of our other hikes. It was slightly strenuous for our kids (ages 5, 8 and 10) but we enjoyed watching ourselves get higher and higher. The view from the top was gorgeous. The kids jumped in the... More

Couldn't resist this 2 hour hike. It is across the desert and up the desert hills. Good well marked trail, but zero shade, zero water, and steep incline make this trail one to take very cautiously. View from the top is wonderful. After the hike take a dip in the Virgin River to get your body temperature back to normal.

We enjoyed this trail and did it in the early AM. There wasn't anyone on the trail, which was nice. The trail was exposed, but at the end of the hike it had a nice view. We prefer Angel's Landing, Emerald Pool and The Narrows / Riverside Walk. I feel bad giving this a 3 out of 5. I'm glad... More

Great trail with beautiful views. Somewhat quiet trail because it doesn't have all the hype. Moderate to difficult trail that was very good to hike. About 2.5 miles round trip. Take the loop at the top to get the full effect of the views. Highly recommend!!

The Watchman Trail was one of the first hikes we did in Zion. We probably saw the least amount of people here. The trail was about 3 miles and gained 450 feet of elevation. The majority of this trail is in full sun, so definitely prepare for that and wear sunscreen. It was neat to watch the sun go down... More
