I don't know why is this any kind of attraction. It is a regular road inside a tunnel and sometimes you have to wait in a queue...

We drove this road in early December as a day trip from Las Vegas. What beauty and stunning natural surroundings! There's a hike right at the end of the tunnel (which was the longest tunnel through a mountain I've ever driven through!) that was pretty scary for this girl afraid of heights but SO worth doing. The smells, the sights,... More

The tunnel is interesting, but I really don't think of it as a tourist attraction. It mostly is a bit of a hindrance when entering the park from the east. We had to wait in line for more than 45 minutes when we used the tunnel in October to enter the park. I'm sure it can be worse during other... More

Only one lane of traffic (in one direction) was allowed. Made for a slow go, although one lane in each direction was possible. At least, this way we were able to see mountain goats high above the tunnel looking down on us sitting in our cars!!

About a mile in length, we didn't have any problem with the traffic going through the tunnel. Of course, it was early one morning in November so that may have had something to do with our lack of problems. Interesting drive.

The tunnel is one mile in length - blasted through solid rock. Lights on and slow down when you arrive at the "windows" to the outside - as seen from inside the tunnel. WARNING - if you are walking or on a bicycle - you can not enter the tunnel - you will have to "pray" on the generosity of... More

we took this tunnel on our way to Bryce NP and about 5 pm , was stop - for what ? we weren't sure - maybe construction - but I think the tunnel was only 1 way ? if I remember right ? wide enough for 2 lanes of traffic ? any how - there we are waiting on the... More

It is a necessary evil or delight depending on when you make the attempt ... the height of tourist season, you may wait up to 30 minutes to pass through the tunnel due to oversize campers and trucks that need both lanes for clearance in one direction Traffic was even heavy on a weekday in Mid-October

We passed through this tunnel many times while staying at Zion Lodge and canyoneering some of the nearby canyons. Each time, we wondered how they controlled the one-way traffic. A local guide told us that they handed out a baton to the last vehicle that was marked the end of one-way traffic. We jokingly made it our goal to get... More

The scenery on the tunnel road is fantastic. We saw mountain goats up close to the road. That was cool! The tunnel itself? Long and dark!
