It is only about 5 miles from the Visitor Center to the uppermost overlook. That drive will only take 15 min allowing time to gawk. The view is of buttes and mesas with an orchestra of finger canyons. Not a substitute for Zion, but a very worthwhile and easily accessible part.

If the inside of Zion is crowded - and it probably will be if your visit to Zion is during July - head to Kolob Canyon Road outside the park. Beautiful drive and views.

This is the ride up to the view or the Canyon, and is almost as nice as the final destination. Lots of picture opportunities. Best part is it is free. Starts right after the Visitors Station which has restrooms.

I drive from Utah to CA fairly often and have always wanted to stop to see Kolob Canyon but never had till recently. My daughter was driving and made the executive decision that this time we were going to stop. It was so worth it!! We were pressed for time so we didn't spend too much time there but it... More

This road is only about five miles long but the views of the of the canyons are amazing! The road starts at the visitor center just off of I-15 and ends up on a parking lot up on a hill with a breathtaking view of the Kolob Canyons. Love the red colored road also! There are many pull-outs along the... More

A little known part of Zion National Park off of I-15. Get a different view of the wonderful geology that makes up this region of Utah. The drive isn't that long with plenty of stops. This portion of the park is not nearly as crowded as the main canyon.

There are many fine overlooks and vistas on this drive through a remote part of Zion Park. Don't miss the small visitor center at the entrance.

This is such a beautiful road to drive. My husband found it by accident so we decided to take a ride and it was totally worth it. You feel like you are in the middle of no where because there are no homes and maybe you will see a car or two but if you are not the one driving... More

You can take this scenic drive on the west side of the park with access from I15. It is a pretty drive with a couple of hiking trailheads along the way.

Located along I-15 direction North West you will find the Kolob Canyon. An amazing national scenic byway will guide you on roughly 10 miles through the canyons. Byway can be entered with the NP Annual Pass. A visitor center is located at the beginning of the byway. On the way you are rewarded with amazing views of the red colored,... More
