Zion in January = AWESOME , no crowds , no waits and you can drive your own vehicle around the park. There will be snow / ice / mud on most trails so get some YAKTRAX and go for a hike. ALWAYS stop in 1st and talk to the Park Rangers , they know current conditions and always offer up... More

Upon my first trip to Zion, we heard from tourists about some crazy trail called "Angels Landing" we didn't have enough time to do it, but promised to come back and try it another time. In April we headed back and finally checked it off our list. There are some things that people should know about the trail. Of course... More

This hike was probably one of the most unique hikes we've ever done. Even though there were a good amount of people, everyone was real friendly, polite & helpful. This is one hike everyone should do, provided you're not afraid of heights. The rock is not too difficult to climb, it gives good traction, but still you should have a... More

If you want to hike Angels Landing in January, make sure you have traction device for your hiking boots (for walking on ice and snow) and waterproof gloves (for grabbing onto the icy cold and wet chains). This trail starts at the Grotto parking lot and quickly becomes really icy and slippery after a series of switchbacks. The unprepared hikers... More

Fairy strenuous walk up the first part.thought I wax at the top, so took a break only to find people still going up this very narrow walk guided by a rope. I called it quits as had too much camera gear with me, but not sure if my stomach an nerve would have managed it any way.

We spent a few days in Zion national park and I have to say it was my favourite of all the parks we visited. The hike consists of a constant incline with several steep switchbacks, as you near the summit the paths become very narrow with very steep drops. The last part of the hike is a bit of a... More

We did this hike last summer while visiting Zion and it was an amazing experience. The hike isn't too challenging, though we had completed a rim-to-rim hike of the Grand Canyon a few days earlier so maybe our perception of difficulty was a little off. We stayed outside of the park so we didn't get to the trailhead until 8:30... More

While planning our trip to Zion, i had already made up my mind about doing the Angel's Landing hike. I am not an experienced hiker/ trekker but what i have learnt is you just keep going slow, wait to catch your breath, keep drinking water and eating chips you can do it! This advice works for regular treks but this... More

Half a day hike. A must. Not difficult but demanding. Be careful and keep going. It is safe. Many people turn back and regret.
