This walk was recommended was recommended by the Visitors Center Staff. The surface is an old road and easy to walk. The last part of the walk is going up a grade but not too steep. There are 2 wonderful fall hikes in King's Canyon, this is one of them, the other one is Redwood Canyon, not too far from this hike. The North Grove Loop is lightly traveled. This is so close to one of the main attractions at Kings Canyon and yet I rarely see anyone on the trail. Seems most people come, do the easy walk around the General Grant, and then leave.
