Go all the way to the end! Solid granite walls all around you! Beautiful waterfall at Grisly Falls! Different but as beautiful as Yosemite!

Such a beautiful drive. Watch your driving though as the road is tight and the cliffs right beside you. Dont miss the chance to do this...it is such a nice drive!

Not much to say - its a beautiful drive through stunning scenery. Lots of places to stop at and go and explore. Good hikes start from many places along the route. Remember that apart from Hume Lake, there are not petrol stations.

I agree with previous review that this we "just ok" and really not much to do when you arrive at the canyon. We drove the Tonga Pass two days earlier which was far more scenic. Unless you have time to kill or are looking for an adventurous driving experience I would skip this. With that said we did see a... More

Very beautiful scenery. You must see the General Sherman tree. It is massive! Takes a long time to get there and to exit the forest due to the twisting roads but it is worth it.

Don't be in a hurry and stop at everything that looks interesting. You never know what you will see.

The Scenic Byway is scenic indeed but the winding road along many steep dropoffs does not thrill everyone. Many pullouts along the way offer amazing views and a chance to let traffic pass. Grizzly Falls and Roaring River Falls are along the drive to the End of the Road. Much less hectic than Yosemite or Sequoia.

There is some really beautiful scenery that you can see if you drive this road. Note: the road is really windy, and it is a lot of up/down (mountain) roads with lots of rocky cliffs. It isn't as busy as other places / roads in the California area (such as Yosemite) and you can park on the turnouts to get... More

maybe we were just having a off day because I have read all these reviews of this beautiful drive and we just didn't feel it The top part was burnt bad from a fire and riding along side the river wasn't bad . just not up to all the great reviews.

We love twisty mountain roads with views and waterfalls. The Roaring River waterfall near the end is very breathtaking . Some pretty steep drop offs on the drive if this bothers you. Very dry around here with evidence of some rush fires- interesting to see.
