Great place to get info on where to stop in Kings Canyon. Tim told us about places to stop and where bathrooms were available on the route. Also, has some nice T Shirts.

If you are only spending a day in the Sequoia National Park and if you are going to spend a little extra time going to see the General Grant tree, you should stop at the Kings Canyon Visitor Center, which is on the way. As we have found in all of the National Park Visitor Centers, this one is very... More

This is the place where you get your orientation to the Parks, and learn how to get to what you want to see. The personnel are well informed and helpful, and are there to increase your enjoyment of the Parks. Passport Stamps here!

Stopped in for some souvenirs for the grankids and the staff went out of their way to ensure we got everything we needed. They even acknowledged my military service. It made my day.

My girlfriend and I make it a practice to stop in at the visitors center when entering a National Park. Here as elsewhere the agent was very helpful in advising on the best sights and stops for the day we had to explore Kings Canyon. There was a small gift shop as well but we save our souvenir shopping for... More

This place is not big, but not small. It is a nice place to visit also has displays for you to check out specially for kids. Activities for anyone specially in Summer. I have been coming here since 1980 and brings back memories and now I got the chance to bring my girls. This is not like Giant Forest Museum... More

We didn't check into our lodge..."John Muir" until 4. By the time we got down to the Visitors center, about 4:50....the employees were rushing people out because they were closing at 5pm. We even got the "count down" of the time from one. They were yelling out .....5 minutes until closing, 4 minutes until closing, 3 minutes until closing......and there... More

My kids do the passport stamp for national parks- bummed that we only had 1 day at this park and we missed the open hours so they were not able to get their stamp 😞

The visitor center was smaller than I expected for a national park so grand. There is a post office, general store and restaurant right next to it if you need supplies.

This place caters to a wide variety of interests from the touristy to the history buff with books, videos, audios, post cards, maps, trails, historical information and the like. Good source of information on the park and what to expect.
