Though not as extremely scenic as others in the area, this little lake offers an inviting short hike around a mountain lake worthy of an hour or two of your time. It could use some improvements in the parking and restrooms area, but if you can't make it down the Bear Lake Rd, this is your next best bet.

We didn't take the trail around the lake but instead started walking up the mountain on the right. It was so much fun and the view became better the higher you got. It's a very easy hike and there are paths everywhere. Ate lunch at the top. What a sight!

A nice lake and trail that is accessible. Went there with a friend that needed a wheelchair and we had a very nice walk around this pretty lake with lovely views.

Sited within the Roosevelt National Forest, it is easy to miss this when visiting the Rockies so be sure to include this on your trip here. I chose this as the last attraction on our way back to Denver International Airport through the rest of Highway 7. Easy to walk around the lake and take in the different backdrops. The... More

This is an easy stop to make. The lake is right at the parking lot and not far out of Estes Park. Easy trail (packed down, groomed dirt) makes it kid and stroller-friendly.

This is an easy hike to a beautiful lake. Continue past this for even better lake views. The trail head is very popular during the summer. Get there early or you are waiting for buses and hiking with lots of people. Go west side if you want more solitude. We did.

The Lily Lake section of Rocky National Park is separate from the main Park. A 6-mile drive on Colorado Highway 7 takes you from Estes Park to this scenic lake. The easy loop trail around the lake is a little over 1 mile and is usually not nearly as busy as many areas in the main National Park. Three of... More

Nice place to stop and stretch your legs after driving the Peak to Peak Highway before entering Estes Park. Rangers present with information. Currently construction on part of the paved path but the detour is not very long. If you want a more strenuous hike take the path to the right up the rocks.
