Go in the morning to get better views of the peaks behind the lake. Gorgeous little hike around the perimeter with trails leading up into the massive peaks.

Nice sunny day, not overly crowded with visitors. Drove into park at Beaver Meadows entrance, parked at park and ride, took park shuttle bus from there to Bear Lake and back to park and ride lot when we were done. Efficient shuttle bus system. Some...More

This was a very nice surprise. We went to Bear Lake in the evening, after hearing parking is available and easier in the evening hours or very first thing in the morning. Otherwise, plan on taking a shuttle bus. The lake isn't a hike, in...More

This is a fairly even, flat hike around beautiful Bear Lake. This would be a good place to start acclimating yourself to the altitude. I could hike this everyday.

This should be the starting point for any visitor to RMNP. It is a great easy trail that is even wheel chair accessible. It's about 0.8 miles around the lake and also serves as a hopping off point to many other nearby sites like Alberta...More

Hello, The only issue that I can think of is the snow fall up in the mountains by December and some of the roads in the park maybe closed by then. It's a fairly easy walk but the weather concerns me.
