My wife and I booked a private guided snowshoe hike in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Zion was our guide and did a fantastic job. It was in the 30s when we left, but once we got up into the mountains, the temperature dropped dramatically and were getting heavy snow fall. Beautiful! The trail was already covered in several feet of snow, and if it wasn't for Zion, we would not have been able to do the hike.
He took us up over 10k feet, to a a frozen lake that we could walk across. Once we got out on the ice, the wind picked up dramatically and we found ourselves in an almost white out condition. Zion quickly moved us off the ice into a clump of trees that blocked all the wind. He broke out a small tarp to sit on and the cherry on top was he brought a thermos of hot water. So there the three of us were, drinking hot tea, eating granola bars and watching a snowstorm blow around us.

We will be doing this again! So much fun!

Great Communication from the moment we booked the trip, excellent email from Zion a couple of days before to make sure we knew what he would provide and what we needed to bring. Also a recommended list of what to wear. Zion was very friendly and personable and extremely knowledgeable about Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. Our snowshoeing trip was absolutely amazing. He took us through barely used trails to a magnificent frozen lake surrounded almost entirely by mountains. Zion was the best guide, he made sure we had fun but stayed safe, brought snacks and hot drinks and we loved chatting with him about the area and he even gave us some great tips for our new hometown. His resume is very impressive. It was the most fantastic experience for all of us. We just moved to Colorado and we feel so lucky to have RMNP in our backyard!

The constant refrain I would hear, deep in the heart of The Grand Canyon, was that Wildland is a top tier guiding service. And now having completing my trek I would willfully and fervently combine my praise with the cacophony that preceded me.
If you are hoping for the experience of a lifetime, Wildland can help you insure that it’s a positive one.

I did a 4 night 5 day backpacking trip with Wildland Trekking and highly recommend them. We backpacked through Rocky Mountain National Park (Alpine Peaks, Lakes & Waterfalls) and it was breathtakingly beautiful. Wildland provides most of the gear so that's extremely helpful. They are organized and communicative so you will know what to bring ahead of time. The big stuff; backpack, tent & walking poles are all provided. Our guide, Samantha, was amazing. She cooked us delicious meals and would give us great info about the park throughout our hikes. She was a lot of fun. Her passion for the outdoors is very obvious and she knows exactly what she's doing. I was so impressed by her. I do believe you have to be in pretty good shape for certain trips so I suggest looking at the difficulty level. A couple of our hikes were very tough. I think Wildland is a great company and I definitely plan to do another trip with them in the future.

I wanted to do something new and challenging for my 50th birthday and we selected Wildland Trekking for the Emerald Lake Snowshoeing Tour. Floyd W. was the most amazing guide. He reached out to us before our trip and the day before. His open communication set my mind at ease since this was my first adventure in the Rockies. He is so knowledgeable about the area and has numerous years of hiking experience. Also, he is a kid at heart and reminded me that it's okay to be a kid and have fun. He brought a beautiful spread of snacks and hot drinks to warm us up after we made it to the lake. I am so blessed to have met him and to experience such a beautiful place. I highly recommend booking your next adventure with Wildland Trekking and if you are going to the RMNP, ask for Floyd! You won't regret it!

Amazing experience overall with wildland but especially with our guide, Marybeth. We wanted to introduce our 4 yr old to hiking and chose wildland based on a good trek in the Grand Canyon with them. Right from the beginning, they were helpful - we called the sales team and they were extremely helpful in selecting the hike, even calling the guide to confirm the best choice for a toddler. Registration was easy and the overall process was very simple. What really made this special for us and our 4 yr old was our guide, Marybeth Lisse. She was amazing - communicated with us well before the hike and just knowledgeable and fun during the hike. She’s had a lot of experience in rocky mountain national park and definitely gave us a lot of knowledge as we drove and walked. She really helped our daughter enjoy her first hike despite some pretty heavy rain and wet conditions throughout, constantly talking and playing with her as we walked. Our daughter (and we) just loved the energy and enthusiasm Marybeth brought. Based on the conditions, she recommended a different route than we had initially planned, which made a lot of sense overall. She pointed out interesting sites and sounds and was exceedingly patient with our daughter. Lastly (while not the top priority), she has packed a great lunch for us including some amazing gluten free banana bread she had made taking into account food sensitivities. She really made the whole hike memorable, especially for our 4 year old, who still talks about going into the mountains with Aunty Mary. Thank you Marybeth and thank you, wildland

Wildland trekking was an amazing company with a wonderful guide. We did the llama trek to Thunder Lake over 2 nights camping. The llamas had so much personality! Our two children later said that getting to know the llamas over the three days was the best part of our entire 10-day Colorado vacation.

The company itself was top-notch, and I would certainly look to Wildland again if traveling at another location where they offer tours.

Our group of 6 spent three amazing days with our fearless leader, Floyd! He was patient, kind, knowledgeable, and supportive. He led us on us three completely different hikes each day so that we could take in as much as we could in the Colorado Rockies. He prepared yummy meals and even surprised me on my birthday with a treat. This is our second trip with Wildland Trekking and we are looking forward to many more! It's so nice to be able to go on an adventure where all the details are carefully ironed out and all we have to do is show up and enjoy ourselves. Love this company!

My hike with Wildland was a great experience from start to finish. Our guide Savannah took the time to talk with us up front to make sure she understood both our capabilities as well as our intended goals. She was knowledgeable about the terrain we passed through and made sure to keep us all on track on the hike up to Black Lake. The terrain we passed through was dramatic and the payoff was well worth the effort.

The Rockies have been a bucket list and I was not disappointed. Wildland Trekking offers an excellent trip of snowshoeing and hiking this beautiful area in the winter. Our guide was superb. Kind, thoughtful, very knowledgeable, and a gentle leader. He was interested in our input, involved us in decisions and took great care of the group with choice of day hikes, lunches, driving, and restaurants. I recommend this trip to anyone who loves snowshoeing, experiencing our national parks and appreciates an excellent guide.
