The hike is more awesome than the falls!

Try to hike from Sol Duc Valley to Sol Duc hot spring after visiting the falls. It is roughly 5 miles but totally worth the effort.

Mostly paved, mostly flat trail through beautiful moss-hung forest. Great for families and casual hikers. But there are steps. There's an general entrance fee to the park.

The hike in isn't too shabby with nice streams and green to photograph. The falls is kinda hard to shoot from the bridge but the viewing area just past makes for some nice pics. Took us around 45 mins to walk in but we went slow and took photos.

This is a nice waterfall that is a fairly short hike from the parking lot. The trail itself is well maintained, but still wet and a little muddy in some spots. The falls at the end are beautiful and cut through a narrow rock chute at the bottom. It's a long drive from the main road all the way to... More

Hiking into Sol Duc Falls was a blast. Pretty easy but enough elevation change to keep things interesting. Lots of interesting ferns and mosses. We reached the falls in the early evening, and the light filtering through the trees looked incredible. My favorite part of Olympic National Park.

A place to stay in the park. This place was the only one available 6 months out. We paid $250.00 a night. Our cabin was nice enough but was not in the shade. Because of no a/c it was so hot we couldn't fall asleep until very late. Ask for a cabin in the shade. The restaurant was very expensive... More

For such a popular destination, the park management should be doing a better job of providing adequate parking for peak season. Many of us have to drive for an hour to get here only to turn back. It's so bad that's all I can remember of this place ! We did manage to park. The hike is short and shaded.... More

The falls are beautiful once you get there, but the maps are confusing and the trails are not well maintained. The one we took had lots of huckleberries alongside, which turned out to be a great attraction to a couple of local bears that we had not been informed of. We were just lucky not to be in their way.

This is a nice small waterfall. It's very pleasant to sit and listen to the water falling. The path is rough in parks so wear sensible shoes. And definitely watch out for the mosquitos!
