Don't let the elevation gain scare you.

This was a great hike despite the rain! It's quite short so easy for most ability levels. The ride out on the mountain roads is quite long - 30 minutes through potholes (best to take a tall car) so just hang in there, you'll get there eventually! Beautiful scenery throughout the drive and during the hike. **Need a national park... More

This is great if you are after something that isn't too physical. The ride up is beautiful, make sure you stop to look at some of the streams from the bridges. We didn't measure how long it took to go up but the car ride from the trailhead to the main road was 30 minutes. Watch out for potholes as... More

Nice for a family (not easy as there is a up hill). The bonus is when you get to the lake and you can take a nice swim (cold water) but very nice views.

A great 4.5 mile round-trip hike to a beautiful lake set below dramatic peaks. The trail is well-marked and takes you through forest with a couple of big views en route. The lake is a beautiful deep blue and there are some good rocks and points to sit on at the lake for a picnic.

If you want to experience the North Cascade National Park, take this trail. It is beautiful pine trees, wonderful mountain views, gorgeous wildflowers, and at the end...an amazingly clear lake. If you walk, you can complete this trail. By the lake, there were hikers from age 5 to 75. I'd recommend sneakers (not flip flops) and water. The trail is... More

Well maintained gradual grade trail with amazing views of Liberty Bell. Went 7-27-15... temps a little chilly, needed a fleece when got to lake....only a few mosquitoes. Saw no mountain goats but sign at start of trail gives warning. Want to return in fall to see golden larches. Take your binoculars to look for climbers and goats. Met several families... More

First, let me start by saying that I am somewhat used to hiking several miles through forests just to see a lake or river or what-have-you. But this hike was very pretty from the very start. Right at the trailhead, being in late September, colors were beginning to show on the ground (like the tundra in Alaska). That gave me... More
