The lake looks very beautiful in summer. Water activities are relatively cheaper compared to some other places like Lake Tahoe, Hawaii etc. Good place for folks in the Seattle region to go for a weekend. There are quite a few rentals available as well.

Wonderful scenes along the lake. Much different from the wet western side of the Cascades. Great for boating, hiking, picnics!

Just spent our 6th or 7th straight year at the state park. As usual, it was great. The biggest change that we noticed from previous years was that the snack shack has stopped doing any fried food. No fries, burgers, etc. I guess if you are after that stuff, you have to go across the street to Alpenhorns.

Beautiful lake. Warm to swim. Ideal place for families. Good stop for anyone driving through. The town is small and charming and easy to stay or get a bite to eat.

beautiful mountain views change with each turn on the lake, and the view on the way back to Chelan looks different than the way you came, just by facing the opposite direction. Boat ride is long because the lake is so long, but scenery is well worth it.

went for a week of camping with my daughter and here family. Well kept campground along side the recreation area, showers and toilets maintained. Happy to see lots of recycling areas. Plenty of shops and restaurants around. Beautiful beach area, cons: water was very cold though, streets were hard to cross as high traffic area, long wait to check in... More

Hiking, opportunities for fishing, biking, rafting, kayaking, and horse-back riding on future visits! Many good hiking maps and books available.

Hi readers! After traveling to almost every State in the Nation, I have to admit, Washington has it all...well, at least in the summer, which is the only time I've been there. I was visiting friends in Seattle, and ended up at Lake Chelan. The drive was 3 hours of magical and spectacular sights. I come from the Desert of... More

The town of Chelan has really grown. It's crown jewel is the beautiful crystal clear water of Lake Chelan. The area is very interesting. There are so many changing views traveling through the area. We will visit again.

We booked our trip the evening before. There was a lot of smoke in the air from nearby fires and we were concerned about it blocking our view of the mountains. The next morning the wind had blown the smoke away and we had a lovley day for our cruise up the lake. The trip is about four hours up... More
