The Aiguille de Joshua Tree is to the East of the Lost Horse Ranger Station which cannot be reached by car. This is not even on the visitor brochure, and if you Google it you can only find this attraction from the rock climbing websites, and even there the direction is not that clear. Here's how to get to it:... More

This was a good walk with a bit of climbing but mostly flat. Great stone formations and of course Joshua Trees. There were a surprising number of people on this walk compared to everywhere else I went in the park. And pretty much everyone was slightly lost! There were trail markers but it was easy to get confused and the... More

There are plenty of joshua trees and interesting boulder groupings to capture the eye. Easy walking in areas. Worth a visit.

Be sure to get a newspaper at the west visitor center to find out how these standing rocks happened to get stacked. And no, people did not stack them. Don't forget to go to Keys View for the fabulous views... More

Lost Hoarse Valley is a large valley south of Hidden Valley and epitomizes what most people think of Joshua Tree NP; vast stands of Joshua Trees, huge granite outcroppings and boulder piles. Driving south on Park Blvd and turning onto Keys View Road takes one through the center of the valley with wonderful views of individual Joshua Trees as well... More

Stunning hike with amazing views. You can either do the 4 mile path there and back to the mine - in which case do climb to the top of the hill above the mine for the best panorama - or continue on the loop which adds a further 2 miles and piles on the stunning scenery. I recommend the latter... More
