We hiked the 2-mile trail to the mine and back, for a total 4-mile hike. I was disappointed in this trail - I thought that it was not particularly scenic and not an iota of shade anywhere (yes, I know...it's the desert!). I think my...More

Joshua Trees are otherworldly, so to be able to get so close to so many is magical! Just walking around, it makes me want to stop and take a portrait of each one....they seem to have their own personalities! Highly recommend Lost Horse Valley!

Excellent hike among Joshua Trees! We hiked the loop trail which passes by the mining equipment and building foundations. The desert is filled with colorful and abundant wildflowers this year. I enjoyed seeing the various shapes and sizes of Joshua Trees!

We drove through this part of the park on our way to the Keys View viewpoint and enjoyed the views of the Joshua Trees and rock formations. We didn't have time for the trail out to the old mine, but the scenery is very good.

We were not expecting the crowds in Joshua Tree when we went Thanksgiving weekend and while I would not characterize myself as a misanthrope, the hoards of people and cars were bringing out these tendencies. We decided to do a longer hike earlier in the...More

We went to the Lost Horse Valley.. There is a hiking trail that can take one to the top of Lost Horse Peak and to a well preserved gold mine called Lost Horse Miine.
