This is the endpoint for the Chain of Craters Road. It’s a .2 mile walk to a viewpoint which looks back into an eroded sea stack much in the distance. Living in Northern California, I did not find it to be anything special or unique. But, it is a small investment for those who don’t live near to the ocean. Site closed permanently. As arch base seems to be unstable , pathway is see the arch is closed permanently , arch can be falling into sea anytime .. still a great drive from visitor center to end of the road to arch ..

It is cool when you think of the forces of nature that created it, but not that spectacular relative to other arches we have experienced. This one does look like it is going to fall over soon, so if you want to see it, go quickly! The vantage point was a little disorganized, but worth the short walk if you have completed the drive for valley of the craters.…

Only a short walk from where you park your car. Interesting to view along with the whole coastal view of black lava cliffs.
