This place was so cool. Definitely go! See it all! We had lunch at the hotel inside which was delicious, beautiful views, and good service. Plus a good place to just refuel. We used an app, Shaka Guide, for a tour guide in the car....More

Everyone has seen the pictures of people standing in front of geysers of lava, flowing lava, lava falling into the sea...problem is...that rarely actually happens. As someone said...your chance of being photographed accepting your lottery winnings check are about the same. When we were there...More

Visiting the Jagger museum, seeing the blow holes, seeing the crater, and then doing the 10 mile walk were the absolute highlight of our entire Hawaii islands trip. I was worried about the 10 mile hike to see the lava flowing into the ocean but...More

This was an absolutely amazing visit. Was easy to get there ( leave the airport and take a left) and great views. Helpful park employees made this a worthwhile visit.

Title pretty much says it all. It's a terrific place to visit. A ton of history so you really can't cut yourself short. Take it all in. From the ranger station, at the entrance, where you can listen to some really smart people talk about...More

A wonderful experience. Visited several years ago and actually got VERY close to a minor flow. This trip we could only see the eruptions from the observation areas, but the night visit was wonderful. Strongly recommend the visit.

We try to visit the park at least twice a year. Not all people will like it, but most will enjoy it, and many, like us, will be like moths to the flame. For a majority, it's at least an amazing present day lesson showing...More

This one doesn't need a lot of words as so many have been there before. One thing to keep in mind is that this is a BIG place and if you want to maximize your time, you need to plan for a whole day...meaning, start...More

We explored on our on at our own pace. With a senior pass, we got in for free. I don't think paying for a tour is worth the money.
