It’s a short walk an definitely worth it. Good stop over. The parking lot is packed but just wait a few minutes.

Do the Kīlauea iki trail counter clockwise and then you will come to the lava tube at the end. After the steep ascent, it’s a nice treat. Trail is pretty flat, easy walking.

Not too far to walk to get to and not too far or claustrophobic once in the tube itself. Got to experience an lava tube whilst in the park surely!

No lights in the tube and it was leaking very scary for some exciting for others-take flashlight and be careful. Not for the handicapped.

You take a large staircase down to the lava tube. You can walk through it and it has lights along the way so you are not in the dark. Take a pic at the entrance to the cave on the bridge. People lined up to...More

Short hike, but amazing to think that tube was once filled with lava. A cool escape from the heat. Only 1/2 mile. Interesting to see the variety of plants beginning to take hold and reclaim the area. Easy to do at the end of your...More

The lava tube is interesting but probably not overwhelming. Still a must see while you're at the volcano park. It's a short walk and the tube is lit for an easy walk through.

If you are at the Volcanoes Park, then make it a point to visit this attraction. It almost resembles one of the tunnels to spot crystal formation. This was a check the box experience for me in that I have now walked through a lava...More

If you don't like the idea of enclosed spaces, don't let this worry you. The tube is maybe 100 yards long and you're within the sight of one end or the other almost the whole time. Well lit. Some wet areas. Hiking boots recommended. If...More

Fun, easy, and quick. If you haven’t seen a lava tube, it’s worth a fast stop. You only need about 10-15 minutes to walk through it.

The tube is real close to Kilauea and the kava flies down to the ocean. You should see Kilauea during day and night.
