We only had time for one hike in GMNP and a moderate hike like Devil's Hall fit the bill. The trail through the wash was fun, but it really get's interesting when you hit the Devil's Hall, a narrow slot canyon. The canyon has very...More

I didn’t have much time while visiting Guadalupe Mountains National Park so the one hike I chose to go on was the Devil’s Hall Trail. The hiking brochure from the visitor center lists it as 4.2 miles round trip with moderate difficulty. I was able...More

My buddy and I did this trail in the evening in early April. Like other trails in the park the footing isn't always the best so I'd recommend wearing shoes with some ankle support. The hike itself was enjoyable including climbing up the wall and...More

Best to go early in the morning as much of the trail is sunny and you are at elevation. May be as short as 2.5 hours if you are very fast, and maybe as long as 4 or so on the more relaxed pace. Trail...More

My wife and I took this hike as part of a one-day, quick visit to GMNP. We're in our 50's, and in average shape...by no means triathletes!! That said, we really enjoyed this hike. As many reviewers have stated, your perspective is from the valley...More

The hike at a normal pace could take anywhere from 3-4 hours depending on your stops. If you're under 40 and in decent shape, it shouldn't be more than 90 minutes each way. The hike itself is beautiful, and is relatively easy until the canyon...More

No views down but nice views up as you are walking initially along a low ridge in a canyon. the second part of the trail is along the bed of a wash out and is pretty easy going, stepping over some 3 foot boulders. the...More

Last time I was here, someone had scratched out the words "Devil's Hall" at the end and scratched in "God's Glory". They must not have done the hike in the summer! LOL. It is actually a nice hike, but as others have said, with lots...More

If you have any experience with the NPS or hiking, you'll love this trail. If you have never hiked before, the park brochure does a great job of warning you--moderate to strenuous, 2.5-3 hours. The trailhead parking is limited, but several of us parked in...More

We tacked this onto the end of our hike to the top of Guadalupe Peak, which may have made it feel longer than it actually was. The surroundings were beautiful and Devils' Hall itself was very impressive and worth the hike. We were here in...More

We went 5 miles and turned around since it was late afternoon. The trail appeared to have several more miles past our stopping point.
