I hiked the Bullhead Trail up to The Pulpit and back. The Pulpit is a set of strategically-stacked rocks set up by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) back in the day. It was intended to allow folks to stand on top and get a marvelous...More

Bullhead was my favorite trail. I hiked on it for at least two dozen times. I had not hiked it since 2016, and when I went back yesterday, it was a horrible disappointment and suffering. The interesting rocks are still there, But the charcoaled tree...More

Avoid this trail. Go to the other Mt. LeConte trails. There's several other choices including other choices from this trailhead.

We loved hiking this trail down from Mt. LeConte! It had beautiful views. It had neat rocky outcrops and took about 4 hours with stops!

We have hiked up to the LeConte lodge for 34 years and used all the trails. Bullhead is long, 8 miles from parking lot to the top, but it's a good trail. It's very grassy toward the top but in early spring it should not...More

Quiet trail, kind of narrow at the higher elevations, nice views & few hikers. My daughter & I preferred this trail to Rainbow Falls when hiking down from Mt LeConte.

The fella and I are fairly avid hikers (we've done Charlie's Bunion, Alum Cave, etc.), and we're both in pretty good shape. After our first two trails were closed, we decided to do Bullhead since it was close and the day was getting away from...More

When I read "most popular trail" I am immediately less interested. When I looked up Bullhead it didn't sound all that popular which is exactly what I wanted. We hiked to Mount Leconte up Rainbow Falls trail and down Bullhead. We saw many people on...More

I go up the Rainbow Falls trail to the summit and come down the Bullhead Trail, completing the 13 mile loop. The last time I did this trail in October, it was disappointing. Apparently there are few that ever travel this trail because it had...More

First, there is no bad hike in The Smokies, but compared to others I have to say this trail is average. I did this hike and saw some gorgeous Fall colors though (see pictures). I went up Rainbow Falls and then down Bull Head which...More
