Sad that you couldn’t get to the top due to not open yet from destruction in 2016 fires. But the destination has a wonderful overlook and place to rest before heading back down! Highly recommend!!

From the reviews, I thoroughly underestimated this hike. I did this hike with my 3, 6 & 8 year olds on our trip to gatlinburg and while the kids didn't do so bad, my legs were burning. Although we have been hiking at Red River...More

This is one of the tougher and more popular hikes in the park. Very scenic. Lower half follows a cascading river that you cross several times. Upper half is much steeper than lower half with a ton of stairs. Was disappointing to see so many...More

Chimney Tops Trail is 3.75 mile busy trail located near the Sugarlands Visitor Center in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Due to the proximity to Gatlinburg and reasonable distance, this is one of my favorite hikes in GSMNP. Plus it's fun and absolutely beautiful! There...More

Hiked the Chimney Tops trail. It is a short hike only 3.3 miles, but feels much longer due to the elevation gain. There are many steps! We had to stop frequently. Great sense of accomplishment when we reached to overlook. Very nice views of Mt...More

This is a beautiful hike that is quite easy for some experienced hikers. However, for most, it is a significant challenge. Only a 2 mile hike, but it's the last mile that is most challenging, as it there are many steps to ascend. This is...More

Like most hikes in the smokies it's all up hill! Loved it! Although the trail is blocked off towards the end, the portion open is nice. The skies were cloudy so not much of a view but I'm sure on a clear day, the views...More
