This lake is beautiful nestled in a grove beneath Wheeler Peak. Kids loved exploring around the lake and watching this little guy come up and beg for food. (See pic)

Definitely worth the hike to see the lake. Make sure to bring plenty of water to drink along the way because it can get hot along the hike.

Delightful hike. Very high altitude. Weather can change on you. Be prepared. Good for children if you don't rush things.

The hike was gradually uphill. Saw deer and four turkeys on the way to Stella a Lake. There was a nice view of Wheeler Peak at Stella Lake! Loved the reflection of the mountain in the lake. Combine this hike with the Bristlecone Pine trail.
