While driving into the park, we decided to pick up some to go wraps and do some hiking. We walked into the visitor center and asked a man in the gift shop if he had any maps and ideas for a hike in the area. He said he didn't have any maps but pointed through the window to a park ranger who he said would be happy to help us. We walked up and told her we were referred by the man in the gift shop and she became irate. "Which one was he"? She demanded. This put us on the defensive. We told her we only wanted info on a loop hike that would take 3-4 hours. She threw a map down on the counter, grabbed a marker and made very quick circles, large enough to cover most of the park and checked off places so fast, we had no idea where to go. Can't recommend stopping in here for information.

This visitor center is at the end of the long entrance road and sits right on the lake with a Grand Teton mountain serving as a backdrop. Plenty of parking is available right out front. The Visitor Center has a beautiful view of Colter Bay, we were surprised to see so many boats on the water. They have a small American Indian Art Exhibit that is worth the time to walk through. Friendly staff to help you with your purchases in the nice gift shop.

Being early May, most of the complex was still emerging from winter; preparing and restocking for the coming visitor onslaught.
The restrooms were clean, the staff were friendly & informative, the exhibits were interesting; and viewing Jackson Lake was calm and leisurely at this time of year.
This is yet another beneficial feature, of a wonderous National Park.

We walked and talked with a group of 6 that turned to 10. Everyone was entertained by not only her knowledge but also her passion for her job. She made everyone feel welcome and encouraged us to ask questions. We all learned a lot and would recommend her as a guide.

This is a perfect picture stop. The Grand Tetons in the background over the lake - priceless. We went in the visitor's centre, had a little instruction by a naturalist and enjoyed the scenery. As has been said, the water level is definitely down and the on-land docks without boats at the marina are rather distressing, but like everything else, it is a cycle of nature, to be appreciated and cared for at all times. Elizabeth did a great job instructing us on the difference between horns and antlers

We didn't actually stop here the day we were in Grand Teton National Park, but instead stopped the following morning on our way to Yellowstone. While the visitor center was closed (because it was 6am), we did walk around the picnic area and marina. There are some unbelievable views of Jackson Lake and the Tetons from this area.

My family stopped here both days we visited Yellowstone and Grand Teton. I can't speak about the exhibits, but they are conveniently located within Grand Teton National Park. The restrooms were clean, and they have a convivence store too in case you need to stock up on anything.

Our son's favorite part of visiting the national parks is going to the visitor centers and seeing the relief maps and imagery. The Colter Bay visitor center did not have a relief map (The Jenny Lake one has several around the area), and honestly was a bit underwhelming. The one cool thing the kids saw here was a pit with lots of antlers/horns from the various wildlife that they could touch and handle, so they did enjoy that. Otherwise, it's really just a big gift shop with not much else to offer in terms of fun things for the kids to see/do.

The Visitor center was nice and had some interesting exhibits.
The trail we took was awful While we had a map, it was so small and the paths unclear. Several times we stopped at a crossroad and were unsure which direction to take as there were no markings. Needed a compass to get us back to the visitor center. We had done numerous trails during our trip and this was the first time we encountered issues. Disappointing as we never reached our planned destination.
