Our hike, to Lake Solitude, started on the Jenny Lake Shuttle. This is a boat that carries about 25 people from the Jenny Lake Vistors Center to the beginning of Cascade Canyon Trailhead. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the canyon. The shuttle...More

7/27/18 Took the ferry across Jenny Lake and by the time we were done we were VERY glad we did. This is a LONG hike 15+ miles with about 3000 ft elevation gain, and goes up to 9000ft elevation so oxygen is not as plentiful!...More

Even shaving miles off the route by taking the boat across Jenny lake, this is a long hike that features a lot of elevation gain. Be in shape or take your time. Most of the hike from Cascade Canyon is uphill and a tough slog....More

A wonderful hike in the Park that ends in a beautiful alpine lake surrounded by the majestic Tetons. Would rank it as a moderate hike from an endurance standpoint-switchbacks over a ridge from Jenny Lake landing dock, then a long stretch of gradually climbing next...More

I hiked here while enjoying the Grand Tetons and couldn't have been happier. The first mile is switchbacks but then it levels off for 3-4 miles through Cascade Canyon. You're walking alongside a rushing river for the majority of the hike and there are waterfalls...More
