Not sure how we missed this the first time we visited as it shares a car park with The Church of the Transfiguration. It's worth a walk down to the ferry, although it wasn't in use when we went in early September. There are information...More

The Menor’s Ferry site includes a parking area to access the original ferry, Church if The Transfiguration and Menor’s Ferry General Store/gift shop. It is a very short distance and completely level. The parking lot accommodates RV’s, Tour busses and cars. While it,has historical significance...More

The history behind the ferry and the guy that started it is pretty interesting. Menor was an entrepreneur who saw an opportunity to put a ferry in at a strategic spot on the Snake River and make some money. Apparently, he was a bit of...More

This was a neat trip back in time, which was narrated by park personnel. The small store sells candies and bottled pop, while the park personnel give a history of the homesteader, Menor, and how the area became part of the national park. The cabin...More

Just a short walk to general store and buildings. Very welcoming people at store and good root beer, sarsaparilla, and huckleberry soda. The history and display of modes of transportation was very interesting. Don't pass up.

There is a barn with the first Conestoga wagon to make it over the Teton Pass, a dog sled, sleigh, and old coaches. I also enjoyed the old cabins and the explanation of how the ferry worked.
