Located not too far from the South entrance to GTNP, the Menor's Ferry Historical Trail is a self-guided trail (an easy walk, not hike). You'll want to pick up a "guide and map" brochure. After parking, you'll pass/go into/view the Chapel of the Transfiguration, Menor's Cabin and Store, the ferry and ferry landing, the transportation shed, and Maude Noble's Cabin.... More

We saw this from our float trip on the Snake River. Once onshore we hiked over to see the buildings. It was pretty incredible to see all the history.

We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the first cabin in this area, the old ferry crossing, general store, Church of the Transfiguration and the first wagon to reach this area from the east.

I love history, so I was interested in seeing this park of the park. I didn't know much about the early days of the park prior to visiting here, so I enjoyed seeing the ferry and "store" and Maud's cabin.

The general store and surrounding buildings are really interesting, and the ferry is a great piece of engineering.

You will get more out of this experience if you are able to visit with the person tending the general store or if you can catch a tour with one of the rangers. It was fun to see the ferry and the cabin along with the other buildings. I felt the most stunning was the view out the window behind... More

This was at the bottom of the places we visited in Grand Teton National Park but it is still interesting in its own way. They had some neat things in the little general store. If you have time they do ranger led tours and also have a ferry. The beauty of the Tetons in the background make you realize why... More

I didn't even know this area or a tour for it existed until my 10yo daughter needed a ranger-led activity to get her Jr. Ranger badge. This one fit into our time-frame so off we went. Although the group had a lot of questions that the tour leader couldn't answer he did have a lot of interesting and historical information... More

During one day of sight-seeing in the park, we stopped at the Menor's Ferry area. The entrance is just past the park entrance in the Moose area. This area has the Chapel of the Transfiguration then on down the trail toward the river is the old home/general store. The store is open. The day we were there they had made... More
