We arrived at the park at 1:15 pm, went to the village was able to check into one of our rooms and decided to cross this landmark off our list right off the bat. It was about 20-25 miles from the village. I had noted there was a route to stop here on the way into the park from Sedona... More

Pictures don't do this place justice..from the parking lot along the highway, you cannot see it, but it starts to come into view and looks like a dilapidated tower.. It is very amazing inside with a fire going and amazing views of a large section of the canyon. Having been there in winter the crowds were small...I can only imagine... More

You can drive to this point , however it may be hard to find parking in summer. The view from the watchtower is amazing , you can see beautiful views of the canyon with the Colorado river. Don't miss it !

This is an excellent place to watch the sunset, then to view the stars. It is almost free of artificial light. My adult kids were able to see the Milky Way for the first time in their life. Able to lay on the ground and see the billions of stars just as I did when a kid.

Mother in law, husband, son, and I visited the Grand Canyon during Thanksgiving week. The panoramic view from this stop is breathtaking. This stop is a must!

This was an unexpectedly amazing place! Built in the 1930s in the style of multiple indigenous dwellings, the craftsmanship and views from the watchtower were exquisite! Nice giftshop and concession area and very clean restrooms, too!

All that trip was ben made to see Grand Canyon and I was not disappointed (however Glacier Point view in Yosemite NP was not worst at last). We was on the way from Page so that was our first View point as we decided to see Canyon from South Rim to have better light. Access to Tower and View Point... More

After a couple of days of viewing all one can from the main tourist sites, the South Rim of the Grand Canyon begins to look pretty much the same no matter where one might be viewing this amazing creation from Hermit's Rest, El Tovar Lodge or at the Grand Canyon Visitor's Center. But from Desert View Watchtower at the eastern... More

Beautiful Views of the Canyon. You can walk up the tower or take photo's from the viewing stand in front of the tower. The tower has a small gift shop and there is a snack bar and restrooms as well.

We chose this location to view our Grand Canyon sunset and boy was that a good choice. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!! Took our breath away, the colors and light were incredible, it rained in the end, which made it even more special. The tower is super interesting with great views as well, AN ABSOLUTE MUST TO VISIT
