The experience design of the Museum and the "Trail of Time" on the south rim trail is excellent. We learnt so much while walking and sparked some much curiosity into geology and the history of the grand canyon. Well done!
This museum sits right over the rim with stellar views below and out on Yavapai point. It’s a great place to read about the geological history of all park. Highly recommend; if cold outside it’s nice and warm with great views on the inside.
The building is right on the rim and the views are fantastic. There is a diorama of the canyon that gives you a kind of birds-eye view of the entire thing. The geology exhibits explain how the canyon was formed, the types of rock and...More

The geology museum at Yavapai point is a highlight on the rim trail. It has a shop as well. I loved learning about the geology and different layers of the GC. This was coupled with a great view of the GC.
My kids loved learning about how the grand canyon was formed here. There was a ranger on hand to answer questions and my daughter got a Junior Ranger book here to complete. Worthwhile visit - great views!
We noticed the museum on a map the first day but decided to return first thing in the morning on our second day. Great plan! We were able to park right next to the museum (senior citizens in the group) and were intrigued by the...More
