This is the best place to go hiking on the south side of the canyon. You can go all the way down to the bottom if you're up for that or you can go down a little ways just to take some pictures and get...More

Walked down Bright Angel three years ago to take a 4 1/2 day, 100-mile raft trip from Boat Launch down river. Put that on your bucket list. Remembered the hike as being long (ten miles), but relatively easy. This year, after walking down South Kaibab...More

This was a sturdy level path was well maintained with breathtaking views. I didn't go all the way down but that is part of the beauty of this trail - go as near or as far as you want.

If you have time to do one thing in Grand Canyon I think the Bright Angel Trail should be it. It really gives you a better sense of "being" in the canyon, not only seeing it. And it can be very quite challenging, especially on...More

it's a hard and hot hike out if the canyon from the river to the top. rewarding and steep inclines. saw a mule deer and wish the water stations had cold water. don't try this if you are not committed to the hike

So you think you had a tough workout at the gym yesterday? Try a shot at the Bright Angel trail. You'll think it's super easy once you get down to the first relief hut. You may even pursue it further down to the next one....More

We started out 8.30am and wanted to go halfway down to Indian Garden. With a lot of stops for drinking water and shooting pictures it took us 6,5 hours. The temperature at Indian Garden was close to 100F, so it was a hot day for...More

Stunning trail. This is rated as more of a medium difficulty trail, so my wife and I thought we would take it on with no problems. Wrong! It is strenuous, especially in the late morning sun. Be cautious and know your limits. I think we...More

Lovely trail, easy to follow with a toilet/ water stop just where needed. Take plenty of water and useful to have a scarf or something you can wet and tie round your neck for the steep walk back up.

Start as early in the day as possible, wear appropriate footwear, and heed park service warnings about bringing enough water and food. Then calculate how difficult the climb up will be and don't hike further than that. But this is an ideal trail on which...More

Yes. The first part of the hike that you are referring to should be doable.

My suggestion would be to hike down either Bright Angel or South Kaibab. Set yourself some timeframe (i.e. turn around after 2 hours down or something like that), and enjoy the hike down and up. While coming up is... More

Hi When we went two weeks ago the high was 65. The sun was hot but there is plenty of shade throughout the trail. I would definitely go again around this time of year rather than the summer time. In the morning, it was... More
